A new trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is available online and it shows off gameplay footage, wherein three vampires must use their powers and skills to uncover a deadly conspiracy. Swansong is a narrative RPG set in the world of the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop game, where players take on the role of vampires, as they scheme to advance their position in a hidden society while trying to control their never-ending hunger for human blood.

Vampire: The Masquerade is set in a world where vampires secretly live among humans. In the current lore of the game, there are humans who have discovered that vampires exist, and they have formed the Second Inquisition to wipe them from the face of the earth. The hunters have become the hunted, with vampires on the run from human hit squads. Swansong is set in the city of Boston, which is controlled by a faction called the Camarilla, whose members strictly uphold the laws of vampire society while manipulating high-ranking mortals into doing their bidding.

The upcoming Swansong stars Galeb Bazory of Clan Ventrue, Emem Louis of Clan Toreador, and Leysha of Clan Malkavian. They are tasked by Prince Hazel Iversen to discover the identity of the assassins who are opposing the Camarilla. Swansong is set to launch in May, and a new trailer has been released on the Nacon North America YouTube channel ahead of its release. This gameplay reveal trailer shows the three playable characters in action, as they seek to learn more about the people attacking vampires in Boston.

Vampires can't just run around zapping people with their powers, as this would reveal their existence to the world. Instead, Swansong's characters must uncover information through investigation and interrogation skills. Each character does possess powers that can help them in a pinch, such as Galeb's Dominate discipline, which can force mortals to do his bidding, Leysha's Obfuscate discipline, which lets her alter her appearance or even turn invisible, and Emem's Celerity discipline, which gives her superhuman agility, allowing her to travel to hard to reach places. Using these powers comes with a price, as the character will grow hungrier and will need to feed on a nearby mortal. The more they give in to their hunger, the more their dark side takes over.

The long-awaited Swansong is a narrative-based RPG that uses the rules and setting of Vampire: The Masquerade to let players experience the story in a number of different ways. The player has a number of options when solving problems, and the NPC conversations can go in different directions. The game is still an RPG at heart, with the player able to improve their character's skills and powers, allowing them to shape their personality and capabilities in whatever way pleases them and experience the consequences of their own decisions.
