The Vampire Diaries might be over, but that doesn't mean we can't look back fondly on our many favorite characters from the series. Stefan Salvatore had a great run during all eight seasons as a main character of the show with various love interests throughout.

When someone asks if you're sad
We've all been there. Someone takes one look at you and assumes you're sad because you're not smiling, glowing, or doing anything similar to connote your buoyant mood. However, a great deal of us are just known to get extremely moody when we're hungry, and therefore we might even be prone to yell. This meme of Stefan works perfectly because, as a vampire, he is especially prone to hair-trigger mood shifts when his thirst for blood isn't sated. This becomes even truer when Stefan is in "ripper" mode.
Vampires not lamps
Twilight and The Vampire Diaries are both extremely popular franchises. While Twilight graced the big screen and created four movies, The Vampire Diaries ran for eight seasons on television. They both stemmed from young adult books about vampires teeming with romance and teenagers.
The two fandoms vary back and forth between friend and foe. This hilarious meme pokes a little fun at Twilight by showing what might happen if the Salvatore brothers were ever to encounter Edward Cullen. Having Damon say, "we're vampires not lamps" in response to Stefan saying "he's one of us," is pretty on the money.
The awkward class at Mystic Falls High
Even though it's something of a running joke that the characters on The Vampire Diaries never went to class, you can't deny that the batch of students filling in was a very eclectic one. For starters, the teacher was a prolific vampire hunter. Alaric Saltzman has always been extremely gifted in dealing with the supernatural world. He's continued his pristine track record on the currently airing Legacies, along with his teaching.
Also, in the first Mystic Falls class is Elena, who is a doppelganger, Stefan, a vampire and ripper, Caroline, who also becomes a vampire, and finally Rebekah. Rebekah isn't in school for long and not until season three, but she added an Original vampire to their ranks. It's no wonder people hardly got their studies done. It's a wonder they managed to graduate at all, and this post leaves out Bonnie, who is a witch.
Damon sank the Stelena ship, literally
This meme pokes fun at the infamous love triangle between Damon, Elena, and Stefan. The two Salvatore brothers fell in love with Elena early on in the series, and both were forever in competition for her affections. Even after Elena and Stefan became an item and got involved in a serious relationship, Damon was always a perpetual threat against their happiness. As the meme shows, Damon was the literal iceberg that sank the "Stelena" ship, who are depicted as Rose and Jack aboard the Titanic in this picture.
Stefan's varied love life
Damon was often depicted as the ladies man between he and his brother Stefan, but when you think about, Stefan actually dated almost every main female character on the series. Damon hooked up with Rebekah, but Stefan had already done that in the past.
Stefan was also with Katherine before Damon got involved. Stefan eventually marries Caroline, despite the fact she and Klaus shared a connection. And finally, there is Elena, who both brothers also shared, but Stefan had first.
Who was Stefan's first love?
Speaking of Stefan's love interests, it's interesting to consider how many "first loves," Stefan's had throughout his life. For starters, he was with Katherine Pierce, and then Elena, and then during the show's seventh season, another random vampire comes to Mystic Falls named Valerie claiming to be Stefan's "real" first love.
It's funny to be reminded by how many supposed "first loves" Stefan has had.
Nobody's perfect
Stefan and Damon Salvatore are far from perfect, but for many Vampire Diaries' fans, they resemble the ideal man. They may have personality flaws and do some idiotic and/or dangerous things on the series, but both characters and their respective actors are very handsome men. It's hard not to think of them when someone wonders if the perfect male specimen exists.
Stefan's a mouse, duh
Who doesn't love a good Mean Girls meme? This hilarious image is from one of the early moments on the show when Elena first discovers that Stefan is a vampire. Except this meme reimagines the scene a little bit.
Instead, the person who made it pokes fun at the idea Stefan could have been simply wearing a pair of ears like Karen did in Mean Girls. It's even funnier if you actually try to picture Stefan and Elena having this conversation.
Another one falls under the spell of TVD
If you seriously love a television series, then there is nothing better than convincing your friends and family to watch it. It's even better when they end up loving it as much as you do, and you can finally talk about the series with someone else you know in real life.
It's a great feeling to share something you love with another person and for them to come back and tell you how happy they are with your recommendation, or in Stefan's words "mission complete." Just one more person corrupted by The Vampire Diaries' endless charm.
I want a man who is...
Similar to the "nobody's perfect" meme above, there are a lot of great guys on The Vampire Diaries to fangirl over. You want someone as sweet as Stefan, as funny and protective as Damon, and of course, someone as strong as Klaus. But when you try to find someone that encompasses all those qualities in real life, it's easy to start to believe you might just wind up alone. Perhaps it'd be easier just to pick one of the three and focus on finding someone to emulate that single trait.
