Vampire Academy has recently come to Peacock, giving supernatural fans another vampire-oriented story. However, this one is unique in the way it approaches different species of vampires within the world and how they associate with each other.
This new series is based on a six-book series by the same name. The TV series has captured many of the great aspects of the novels while adding some changes to capture an audience on screen. However, there are some Reddit users that think there are some great scenes in the books that would benefit the show.
First Strigoi Turn
Vampire Academy - Book 1
In the first Vampire Academy novel, Victor's daughter Natalie is convinced to willingly turn Strigoi by her father. This is the first time Rose actually sees a Moroi turn into one of the undead vampires.
However, Natalie is not a character within the series. Instead, his daughters are Sonya and Mia, two unrelated characters in the novels. Reddit user OkResponsibility8549 said, "They’ll probably have Sonya be the first strigoi she ever sees turn which will have a huge impact on her because it’s a teacher that she is really fond of." While this is just a theory, it would be interesting for the fans to see the first Moroi turn bad.
Adrian Is Introduced
Frostbite - Book 2
There are many likable characters in the Vampire Academy series thus far, but Adrian Ivashkov has yet to be introduced. According to Enews, Leo Woodall, the actor plating Adrian, will appear in the sixth episode of the first season.
Adrian is one of the fan-favorite characters in the book series, but he isn't introduced until the sequel. When asked which scene they'd like to see in the series, Reddit user raven_2525 said, "Adrian's first scene... really anything with Adrian." Instead of waiting until later in the story, the series is going to introduce this fan-favorite early on.
Rose Gets Her Molnija Mark
Frostbite - Book 2
There are many fearsome vampire hunters on TV shows and movies, but Rose Hathaway has the potential to be a unique twist on the concept. Though she doesn't hunt the evil Strigoi, it is her responsibility as a guardian to protect the Moroi.
When Rose gets her Molnija mark, it's to symbolize her first Strigoi kill. However, this scene is riddled with bittersweet emotions because, during the fight, she lost a close friend. Reddit user ImpetuousDecisions said, "I hope they show the...battle symbol tattoo on Rose's neck. I think that would be such a devastating scene." This scene from the second novel shows the horrors and rewards of being a Guardian in this world.
The Strigoi Attack
Shadow Kiss - Book 3
There are some great vampire TV shows, but Vampire Academy introduces the audience to a world of not just good and bad vampires but mortal and immortal ones. Though Rose has faced Strigoi at this point in the novel series, this novel features a large-scale attack on St. Vladimir's Academy.
This fight allowed the readers to see Rose face multiple enemies. This is also a major scene because Christian Ozera is seen using his magic to fight, which is largely frowned upon in their world. Reddit user yazzy1233 said, "The fight was so gripping and I loved seeing Rose and Christian being badass and working together."
Rose Leaves
Shadow Kiss - Book 3
Book Three of the series also featured a big plot twist. When Rose's beloved mentor is turned into a Strigoi, Rose chooses to go after them to kill them as they would have wanted beforehand.
Reddit user ImpetuousDecisions said, " I always love when Rose left because she was finally, for the first time really in her life, doing something for herself." Before this, Rose is dedicated to protecting Lissa above all else. This scene and the events after finally capture her doing something for herself.
Rose And Dimitri Fight
Blood Promise - Book 4
Like other supernatural love shows, Vampire Academy has the source material to develop several captivating love stories. When Dimitri is turned into a Strigoi, Rose goes after him to end his immortal life, as he would have wished as a Dhampir.
Though evil Dimitri initially subdues Rose, she's able to get free and fight back against him. This leads to a battle between the young woman and her old mentor. Reddit user raven_2525 said, "I've always loved the chase/fight scene at the end of Blood Promise." This scene would add an interesting love of suspense to their tragic love story.
Lissa And Rose Reunite
Blood Promise - Book 4
After Rose left to go find Dimitri, both she and Lissa went through a rough time. Though Rose was away, their unique bond allowed Rose to see that there was a magic user with Lissa's unique gifts trying to take advantage of her vulnerability.
The stressful and frightening situation they both find themselves in makes the union even more emotional. Reddit user Aj_tano said, "By far my favorite scene in the book is when Rose comes back from Russia and reunites with Lisa and they both collapse to the floor cry and [apologize]." This experience would help to emphasize how strong the union is between the two young women.
Dimitri Comes Back
Spirit Bound - Book 5
The story gets turned upside down when Dimitri is taken out of the picture. Rose struggled to accept the loss of her love interest and has to try to go on with life realizing she wasn't capable of saving him.
In this novel, magic is used to restore Dimitri back from a Strigoi to a Dhampir. Reddit user zelenadragon shared their favorite scene in the novel, saying, "When Dimitri gets restored from Strigoi back to dhampir. Thats going to be epic." Since it was common knowledge Strigoi are lost once they turned, this unexpected success would bring an interesting twist to the magic of the Moroi.
Rose's Graduation Trial
Spirit Bound - Book 5
Rose misses a lot of school and practice throughout the storyline. However, her experiences make her one of the most skilled and fearsome Guardians, giving her an advantage most other students don't have.
Her expertise in fighting means that she must receive a specialized trial for her graduation test. Reddit user ImpetuousDecisions said, "Rose was literally so powerful and talented that they had to create a new scenario for her." If this scene is included in the series, it will reiterate the concept that Rose is an extraordinary Guardian compared to her peers.
The Search For Jillian
Last Sacrifice - Book 6
Many aspects of the last book could be added to the story towards the end of the series. However, there are a few details the story would benefit from earlier on.
In the series, they have already emphasized that Lissa doesn't haven enough family to have a vote on the council or be a candidate for queen. However, in the novel, this leads to her friends doing some digging to uncover a family secret. Reddit user seedsofpersephone said, "I really hope to see the library scene when Rose, Dimitri and Sydney are looking for Lissa's sibling." Lissa's secret half-sister, Jillian, would be an interesting addition early on in the series.
