Valorant Act III is adding another helping of content for Riot Games' dedicated playerbase, who can expect an all-new Battlepass, skinlines, and for Aussie agent Skye to join the competitive shooter's varied roster. A hero shooter is just a regular FPS without its heroes, so players are doubtlessly excited to push the latest Agent's nature-themed abilities to their limits when she arrives to cap off the busy month of October's several additions.

Alongside the recently announced Icebox map's entry into the slowly growing rotation, Valorant Episode I Act III will kick off proper on October 13 with the introduction of a new set of Act III Battlepass rewards,. They include more of the skins, gun buddies, sprays, player cards, player titles, and Radianite Points that players already spend their time working toward, accompanied by a new premium skinline, a low-poly, black hole-reminiscent set of weapon skins that look miles ahead of the... interesting fare of the previous season's Glitchpop series. Finally, Skye and her cadre of intelligent, ethereal beasts will drop into the battlefield on October 27. Skye's abilities includes a self-guided airburst flash grenade, a team support heal, and a controllable Tasmanian tiger summon that damages and concusses enemies at will, all of course headlined by her ultimate: Seekers, which auto-target her three nearest enemies, nearsighting them on impact.

As always, the question this season (or the more dramatic Act, as Riot prefers) is will these updates and other changes be enough to keep Valorant competitive enough to keep its head above water in the eternal fight for players' time and viewers' attention. The game is currently far from dead, pulling in tens of thousands of viewers daily on Twitch, but it's harder than ever to predict if the more po-faced, challenging hero shooter can continue to keep up pace with new releases, a new console generation, and left-field platform domineers like Among Us.
