An ingenious Valheim player performed a clever portal trick to build a believable in-game replica of Bilbo’s hobbit house with all of its underground interiors. The amazing creativity of the title’s fan community knows no boundaries, as gamers’ efforts continuously result in remarkable design accomplishments.

Although Valheim’s building mechanics are quite sophisticated and robust, there are certain limitations that players are attempting to bypass. For instance, the absence of actual spiral staircases in the game did not stop an inventive Valheim builder from creating their own version of the simple, underrated structure. Not only was the result absolutely beautiful as an art project, but it also perfectly served its initial purpose as the design was freely walkable. On top of that, the structure can be extended to any height.

A devoted Valheim player, who also happens to be a true The Lord of the Rings fan, took extra effort to create an in-game version of Bilbo’s hobbit house in stunning detail, as demonstrated in a video on Reddit. User MrBegonia shared the impressive build with the game’s community, and as players note, there’s a lot more to the project than meets the eye. Right beside the entrance, Bilbo's classic “No admittance” sign can be found, driving away unwanted visitors. The author also made clever use of portals, turning them into the round front door of Bilbo’s under-the-hill residence. The interior of the meticulously designed hobbit-hole is the definition of comfort, although the inside part of the house was built on the other side of an island since there was no way the player could fit it in the original location. The reason for this is that Valheim unfortunately does not allow digging actual holes in the ground. This slight downside did not prevent the author from incorporating ingenious decoration solutions to make the house a true home to a hobbit.

In order to fulfill their creative visions, it’s quite common for Valheim players to invent things that are currently unavailable in the game. As such, one pioneering gamer managed to create a curved structure even though there are only straight building pieces present in the survival title. The test statue looks perfectly shaped as a rounded construct, although each individual piece of it remains completely straight. The implementation of the idea worked just fine, and the author promised to utilize the invention in more elaborate builds.

This recent Valheim build clearly demonstrates that there’s nothing impossible for the tenacious mind of a creative person. Despite the fact that the game was seemingly restricting any attempts to build underground facilities, the gamer managed to bypass the limitation with respectful elegance. It’s hard even to imagine what the fan community’s next build might be, but it's sure to push the boundaries of the game even more.
