The German battleship Bismarck has found itself a new home in the waters of Valheim, as a naval history fan has built a massive replica of the military vessel. Interestingly, this is actually the second-known attempt to make a 20th century warship in the Viking-themed crafting/survival game.

Last month, a Valheim fan decided to put together a believable replica of the retired American battleship USS Iowa. Using the majority of the game's available building assets, the player managed to create an authentic in-game representation of the ship, which looked like dead-ringer for the real thing - minus being wooden. That small inaccuracy is common to most Valheim builds due to its lack of resource variety at presnt, but that doesn’t make builders' end results any less impressive. Now, the impressive navy vessel is going to get a worthy opponent in the form of another historical battleship.

Reddit user and Valheim player Evangelineooo shared that they're currently building a gigantic replica of the German battleship Bismarck, and the current result is already a sight to behold. The vessel looks enormous, impressively reflecting the massive scale of the real thing. Close attention to detail is also on display, as the build even includes lifeboats and a small airplane. The Bismarck's four signature gun turrets with heavy cannons are authentically placed on the deck, making the wooden replica look formidable in a world of swords and magic. With the original having been sunk by the British RAF in World War 2, this version of the Bismarck has nothing to fear (barring talented Valheim modders hypothetically adding airplanes to the game).

Having the mighty Bismarck anchored by the shore near the player base might serve as an effective defensive measure, which was exactly the core idea for a different creation in Valheim. A Star Wars fan decided to let a huge AT-AT walker protect their in-game belongings by building its copy in the backyard. While the sci-fi transport does not shoot actual lasers, its very image in the distance is enough to scare away unwanted visitors.

Valheim released just slightly over two months ago, and it’s already obvious that players have progressed significantly in their collective skill of creating impressively detailed builds since then. The USS Iowa and Bismarck in-game projects come just a month apart, so it seems inevitable that another WW2-era warship will wash up on Valheim shores by the end of May.
