A Valheim player recently shared footage of their "Bridge at the End of the World," a bridge that literally stretches beyond the edge of the game world. Indie developer Iron Gate Studios launched the open-world survival game in Steam Early Access back in February. The PC-exclusive adventure quickly took the world by storm, evidenced by the six million copies it sold after less than two months on the market. And such meteoric success has kept Valheim atop the Steam sales charts for two consecutive months.

The title drops players into the role of battle-slain Vikings who must survive Valheim's titular tenth Norse realm. Battling myriad beasts of mythical origin and braving the harsh elements are central to the overarching experience. However, countless players continue to especially invest time in the game's robust building mechanics. Fans have crafted everything from massive pachinko machines and Skyrim's High Hrothgar monastery to huge roller coasters and AT-ATs from Star Wars. The lofty ambitions of Valheim players evidently don't end and begin there, however.

One dedicated user has taken Valheim's bridge-building mechanics to a completely different level. Earlier today, Redditor Thommynocker shared footage of their "Bridge at the End of the World," which spans a few feet past the game world's edge. It takes the player approximately 50 seconds to sprint from the rocky steps on Valheim's coastal land to the end of the incredibly long bridge. The journey seems a bit bumpy, too, given the instances wherein the ocean's water crashes across Thommynocker's rickety craftsmanship. Still, it's an impressive feat that offers a hint as to just how far the game world stretches beyond the shore.

As always, it's neat to see the creative ways in which players have been able to push Valheim to its limits. And who knows how else users will put the addictive building tools to use as time goes on?

Iron Gate plans to further expand upon the existing content in the future with several major updates. However, Valheim's unexpected popularity considerably slowed the team's post-launch plans, as its focus has shifted to ironing out the most egregious bugs and issues. When the time comes, the first big content patch that players can look forward to is "Hearth and Home," which will revolve around building and cooking mechanics.
