Valerie Bertinelli shared the surprising news that Food Network has canceled her cooking series, Valerie's Home Cooking after 14 seasons. Valerie's Home Cooking premiered in August 2015, and featured Valerie preparing home-cooked recipes for her family members and friends, who made guest appearances on the show. Valerie shared her favorite recipes, along with tips and tricks for making cooking easier. The series was not only a fan-favorite, but also critically acclaimed. In 2019, Valerie won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Culinary Host, and Valerie's Home Cooking won for Outstanding Culinary Program.

In an Instagram reel, Valerie shared good news and bad news with her followers about Valerie's Home Cooking.

Valerie's good news was that season 14 of the show premieres on April 9. The bad news was that the show has been canceled. Valerie captioned her post with a message. She wrote, "It has been one of the huge joys in my life to bring you this sweet little show, and I wish it wasn’t so, but the final season of Valerie‘s Home Cooking starts airing tomorrow on @foodnetwork. We loved making every single episode for you and I will really, really miss it. Thank you so much for watching!"

In the reel, Valerie revealed that Food Network canceled the show last summer, and she has "no idea why." She explained that she didn't say anything at the time because she was hoping that the network would change its mind. Valerie went on to say, "I have loved making this show. It was such a dream-come-true." She gushed, "Every single part of it brought me so much joy. I loved the crew. I loved everybody in production. They loved making this show for you." Valerie concluded her video by saying, "I hope that you enjoy this final season because [we] made every single episode with love for all of you."

Valerie began her career as an actress, starring as Barbara Cooper on One Day at a Time from 1975-1984. She also appeared on Touched by an Angel, Hot in Cleveland, and many other roles. In recent years, she has become a Food Network staple, hosting Valerie's Home Cooking and Valerie's Hot Dish. She also serves as the host and judge of Kids Baking Championship along with Duff Goldman. She has appeared as a host and judge on several other shows as well. Valerie is also a cookbook author, including the book Valerie's Home Cooking, which has over 100 recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, small bites, desserts, and cocktails.
