Leather is a crafting material in V Rising that is essential for character progression during the early stages of the game. This material can be looted from enemy mobs or crafted at a specific workbench. Since loot is highly dependent on RNG, producing Leather at a workstation is the most efficient method for procurement. Nonetheless, there are two particular locations on the world map in V Rising where Leather is one of the Landmark's Important Loot.

The first location in V Rising where Leather can be acquired as loot is the Bandit Trapper Camp in Farbane Woods. This landmark can be found east of the Forgotten Cemetery and west of the northeastern Farbane Woods Waygate. Slaying enemies or destroying containers within this area has a high chance of netting players Leather as loot. Accordingly, those who still do not have the means to craft Leather can visit this camp frequently to gather the resource.

Alternatively, Vampire travelers can visit the Brighthaven Docks, a landmark in V Rising that borders the western coastline of Silverlight Hills. The docks make up the lower-left portion of Brighthaven and contain Fresh Fish, Fish Oil, Reinforced Planks, and Leather as possible Important Loot in V Rising. However, the main drawback of this Leather location is that the Silverlight Hills region is a much higher-level area than Farbane Woods. Therefore, newer players are advised not to venture to that area until they are adequately leveled and outfitted.

The other method of getting Leather in V Rising is by crafting it at a workstation known as the Tannery. This structure requires 8 Planks and 160 Animal Hide. Planks are obtained from lumber refinement at a Sawmill, and Animal Hide is primarily acquired from wild animals such as Wolves, Bears, and Deer. However, before Vampire adventurers can build the Tannery in their base, they will first need to defeat a particular V Blood Boss in V Rising.

Keely, the Frost Archer, is a V Blood enemy located in the Bandit Trapper Camp mentioned above. Defeating her will reward V Rising fans with the Frost Bat Power, the Tannery, and Recipes for the Traveler's Wrap, Empty Canteen, and Leather. Hence, Keely is the key to unlocking access to Leather procurement via crafting. Before facing this Boss, Vampire combatants are recommended to be at least Level 20. Furthermore, it is a good idea to clear out the camp of trash mobs before confronting this powerful V Blood opponent in a 1v1 battle.
