The General's Soul Reaper is one of the most powerful weapons in V Rising, featuring similar stats to the Merciless Iron Reaper but possessing bonus passives and unique abilities for superior performance in combat. However, unlike standard equipment unlocked via the Research Desk or Study, the General's Soul Reaper can only be obtained by acquiring a secret "Recipe" from an elite mob and crafting the schematic at a Smithy in V Rising.
To unlock the Smithy blueprint for the General's Soul Reaper in V Rising, Vampire adventurers will need an item known as an Orb of Knowledge for "The General's Soul Reaper." These Orbs are hidden consumables that can be used on the spot to uncover new technology. After using this particular Orb of Knowledge for the General's Soul Reaper, the weapon's crafting blueprint will become automatically available at the Smithy. Accordingly, Vampires can only acquire the Orb as a periodic drop from an elite enemy known as the Undead Commander.
The Undead Commander is a Level 49 enemy characterized as a towering figure wielding an upscaled version of the General's Soul Reaper. While this tall undead humanoid does not possess any V Blood, the Undead Commander is still formidable enough to be considered a miniboss in V Rising. Therefore, players are highly recommended to reach at least Level 50 or higher before attempting to confront this elite enemy mob.
Unlocking General's Soul Reaper In V Rising
The Undead Commander can be found in two locations in Dunley Farmlands: the Haunted Iron Mine and the Church of the Damned. In the Haunted Iron Mine, the commander can usually be found within the southernmost chamber. Typically, no other enemies will be around, so facing the elite enemy shouldn't be too much of an issue. However, if the Undead Commander is wandering the shafts of the Haunted Iron Mine, players are recommended to lure it to the southern room for a more straightforward battle. On the other hand, the Church of the Damned will have many more hostile mobs spawning in a concentrated location. Furthermore, Leandra, the Shadow Priestess, prowls about the vicinity, which may prove to be an issue when fighting the Undead Commander. Thus, choosing the Haunted Iron Mine as the battle arena for facing the Undead Commander might be optimal for most combatants.
Nonetheless, after defeating the Undead Commander and receiving its Orb of Knowledge, Vampires of V Rising can return to their Castle Smithy and craft the General's Soul Reaper using the following resources:

- Plank ×16
