Loot Vaults were introduced to Fortnite in Chapter 2 of Epic's popular Battle Royale and have quickly become points of interest to most players, as they're great sources of fresh new loot. However, these locations are heavily guarded, and players will often not find themselves alone in trying to access one. Most of these vaults require a Keycard as well, and these can only be found with the NPC bosses in each area.

To circumvent some of the risks associated with opening these vaults, players have begun taking advantage of a glitch found by Fortnite player and YouTuber Glitch King. Glitch King found that it's possible to glitch into The Authority Loot Vault using only a Choppa, an Upgrade Bench, and a friend, similar to a glitch in Season 2 that used only a boat. While it's not certain how long this glitch will last without a patch, since Epic and the Fortnite devs have frequently eliminated similar glitches in past seasons, it's currently a handy way to make off with that loot. Here's how to access Loot Vaults and other locations with a Choppa in Fortnite.

Use a Choppa and Build Some Walls in Fortnite Season 3

A Loot Vault in Fortnite requires a Keycard or a glitch to enter

To begin, players will need to find a Choppa. They will want to fly the Choppa to their chosen POI containing the Loot Vault. They will need to get out of the Choppa and break the flooring directly above the vault.

They should then land the Choppa directly in front of the broken tiling and change seats. From there, they will need to build walls all the way around the Choppa and the broken floor.

Once the walls are up, players will want to tell the friend working with them to use the Upgrade Bench underneath the Choppa. If all the steps have been completed correctly, this final action should glitch the player (and often the Choppa) directly into the Vault.

Glitch King performs this action at The Authority, having the Choppa approach the building from the southeast corner, destroying the second-floor tile from the right and the landscaping flower bed containing a bush. This glitch will work on other Loot Vaults, and anywhere else on the map. Players will want to destroy the flooring directly above the Vault or building they wish to glitch into.

Enter a Loot Vault in Fortnite Season 3

Once inside, a player can loot all the weapons and items from the Loot Vault before other players have the chance to access it. This can be a good way to stock up on weapons, loot, medical kits, XP, and other valuables.

Glitch King noted that this method can be used almost anywhere on the map, meaning players can use it to glitch into almost any location and ambush their opponents, often to devastating effect.

Players will want to keep in mind, however, that there is a lot of risk to this method. Once inside a Vault this way, there is no way to exit until someone else opens it from the outside. While it is then possible to take the other players by surprise once the Vault door is open, it is also possible the player will remain stuck for a while and might immediately be killed once the door is open. Still, Glitch King demonstrated that, by biding their time inside the Vault, it is possible to finish the game in one of the top ranks.
