Players can upgrade their equipment in Resident Evil 8. This guide will show players how they can do it. In Resident Evil 7, players took control of Ethan Winters. He now makes a return as the main protagonist of Resident Evil 8 as he enters the village to find his kidnapped daughter. Along the way, players will come across new weapons and gizmos they can use to take down the mutant inhabiting the village. The previous title in the series ignored the ability to upgrade weapons but now it's back and better than ever before. Here is what players need to do to unlock the ability to upgrade their equipment.

Each weapon comes along with its own set of upgradable perks that players can spend money on improving. This includes the weapon's damage, reload speed, ammo capacity, and more. Players will definitely want to invest their resources into building the proper toolkit for certain situations. In a game like Resident Evil 8, you'll never know what's going to pop out of the corner. Make sure to explore the map for hidden corners and secrets to find more cash. This cash is essential for upgrading your weapons. Once the player has collected enough money, here is what they need to do to unlock these upgrades.

How To Unlock Equipment Upgrades in Resident Evil 8

Unless the Shadow of Rose DLC ties up every loose end, some Village characters might appear in Resident Evil 9.

Once the player has collected enough money, they can head over to the Duke. Players will need to complete the castle area of the game in order to access this location outside of the main castle. Head over to the Duke and he will offer you equipment upgrades for a certain amount of money. Not every upgrade will be available from the beginning but they will slowly unlock as the player progresses through the game. From experience, it's best to put resources into the Pistol. Pistol ammo is much easier to find than any other in the game so having this weapon carry more bullets, do more damage, and reload faster will be life-saving in a critical moment. Although if you have more money, invest the resources into the weapons you use the most.

Resident Evil 8 provides that level of micromanagement and stress the series has been known for decades. A player being trigger happy can put them in an incredibly difficult situation down the line. Finding Ethan's daughter and escaping this creepy land is just the first step in the full story. Might as well have the best weapons while traveling down this path.
