With seven live-action movies under his belt, each often featuring more than one villain, Spidey is swiftly making his way through his rogues gallery. Luckily for him, it just happens to be one of the best lines any hero could hope for.

While it's true that, through his almost 60-year career fighting crime and saving New York City from certain destruction, he's come across plenty of gimmicky and forgettable villains, there's still plenty of juice left in the engine with a queue of dangerous blood-thirsty baddies waiting for their turn to take a pop at the web-head. Here are 10 Spider-Man villains that deserve to appear in a movie.

Scorpion

Spider-Man villain Scorpion

This one is a no brainer and the most likely villain to appear in a film, with Mac Gargan already appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. However, The Scorpion still deserves a mention.

Like all great Spider-Man bad guys he's got a wicked cool animal theme, with a deadly scorpion with a poisonous tail, to boot. More than a match for Spidey, he possesses superhuman strength and agility. In the comics, J. Jonah Jameson was involved in his creation, and, with J.K. Simmons reprising his role, his comic origin is back on the table.

The Spot

One of the more out-there bad guys on this list, The Spot isn't as well known in popular culture as the classic Spider-Man villains of the 60s. However, with the MCU doing stranger and more wacky things, it's The Spot's time to step into the spotlight.

With the ability to create "spacewarps," aka portals, all over his body and even put those portals on anything he can find, The Spot is harder to land a punch on that The Sandman. His simple and clean design is instantly eye-catching and intriguing. It seems inevitable that The Spot will make his way to the big screen.

Kraven

New Kraven the Hunter Marvel Comic

Heavily rumored to make his big-screen debut in the as of now untitled Spider-Man 3, Kraven the Hunter would be a terrific choice for the next big bad Spidey goes up against, although his costume may not translate to the screen all that well. It's unlikely Disney would allow him to don a large Lion skin, but if the can make The Vulture's costume work anything is possible.

Deadly and with his own complex moral code, Kraven is one of Spider-Man's deadliest foes, with a turbulent history together dating back to the early 60s.

Tombstone

Tombstone gained superhuman strength and became resistant to physical harm after being exposed to an experimental gas. The teeth are his own hardy work. This towering albino crime-lord is more than a physical match for Spider-Man and able to take his punches like they were tickles.

And, while it's true he's something of a blood-thirsty maniac and lacks the tragic backstory of other entries on this list, maybe that's his USP? Using his razor-sharp fangs, he could chew up the scenery and provide a fun over-the-top evil for the sake of evil bad guy akin to The Red Skull or Hella.

Hammerhead

With a weaponized head and expert knowledge of weaponry and fighting skills to boot, Hammerhead is a deadly foe. But, when compared to other more colorful and eccentric characters, he could come off a little bland.

His gimmick isn't so much his deadly head but his personality. Hammerhead's real gimmick is that he acts like a gangster from the 1920s; the voice, the clothes, the attitude, everything. This lends itself well to the more comedic take the Tom Holland movies have taken. And, while it's true this wouldn't flesh out an entire movie, it would be fun to see Hammerhead make a small appearance.

The Cameleon

This guy really is a no brainer. With the simple and awesome ability to change his appearance to look like anyone, there's no telling the damage The Camelon could do. Not just to the world but to Peter Parker's personal life.

Adding in the fact he is Kraven's brother, and the results are a terrific villain package. Furthermore, the ability to change a face was already featured in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Balck Widow using Shield tech to change her appearance during the film's climax. It's more than plausible that this technology could have been acquired by The Chameleon.

The Beetle

For a minor villain, a surprising number of people have taken on the mantle of The Beetle over the years, with several different men and women stepping into the role. But one thing remains constant: the bad-ass battle suit. Though not on Iron Man's level of cool, this high-tech suit is a thing to behold.

Unlike other characters on this list, it's easy to see how The Beetle could translate well to the big screen, with numerous companies having already attempted to replicate the Iron Man armor—maybe one of them was successful? It's a refreshing reinterpretation of the character that would make him or her more relevant than ever.

Black Cat

New Venom Comic Black Cat

Seven films down and it's astonishing that Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat has yet to make her debut. Though there's no denying that she takes inspiration from a certain other feline fem fetal, she's still a great character in her own right.

More of an anti-hero than an outright villain, it's inevitable that Black Cat will make her way to the big screen one day. Her dynamic with the wall-crawler is like no other, and their romantic entanglement could provide excellent dramatic tension in the next movie.

Hob Goblin

Roderick Kingsley aka Hobgoblin laughs in Marvel Comics.

Numerous people have taken on the mantle of The Hobgoblin over the years, and, unlike other villains, he has no definitive alter ego. This makes him a great candidate for a big-screen reinterpretation. While there's no debating that The Green Gobin is the goblin to rule them all, with three goblins appearing throughout Spider-Man cinematic history, maybe it's time for a change of pace?

While Hobgoblin would be difficult to set up without the Green Gobin already being a thing, maybe this time Green Gobin could be inspired by him? With a new goblin, the audience would have a genuine mystery on their hands and for once wouldn't know who was under the mask.

Mister Negative

Mister Negative

Making his breakout into the pop culture conciseness courtesy of 2018's Spider-Man on PS4, the relatively new baddie got more than his fair share of face time with Spidey. With a gimmick to end all gimmicks, Mister Negative spends his days as the kindly mild manners Martin Li, but, unbeknown to him, he switches to his alter ego Mister Negative, the ruthless crime boss.

With an array of awesome abilities, such as being able to corrupt people and make them do his bidding, it's easy to see Mister Negative giving Spidey a challenge and a threat like none he has ever faced.
