Quentin Tarantino has recently confessed to focusing on expanding the world of Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, which could mean that any of his other projects might take a backseat for the time being. But this isn't the first time it's happened, and nobody knows that better than Reddit.

There have already been tons of projects that Tarantino has abandoned or couldn't get off the ground for one reason or another, whether it's a Westworld remake or a Man From U.N.C.L.E. adaptation. But of all of the celebrated filmmaker's abandoned projects, Redditors want to see these the most.

Star Trek

NakedGoose wants to see Tarantino's Star Trek positing that "it's the least like what we have already seen from him." There Redditor isn't the only one, as fans are dying for Tarantino's version of Star Trek. There doesn't exactly need to be gore and profanity in Star Trek for it to be great. There's something wholesome about the franchise for steering clear of that kind of thing. However, though there wouldn't be too much living long and prospering, a Tarantino-directed hammy space opera sounds incredible.

The current iteration of Star Trek seems fitting for Tarantino to come on board. The filmmaker shoehorns all kinds of pop culture references into his movies, and the current Captain Kirk is already seemingly a big fan of Beastie Boys. That's begging for a Reservoir Dogs call back where Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Scotty are sitting in a diner discussing the real meaning of "Sabotage."

40 Lashes Less One

Before peculiarly adding that they're "genuinely curious how he'd handle a Mighty Ducks-type film," WatchMoreMovies seriously answers the hypothetical question with 40 Lashes Less One. It would have been based on the Elmore Leonard novel of the same name and had a similar theme to Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight, as two bounty hunters track down the five most dangerous outlaws in Yuma.

Tarantino has already adapted one Leonard novel, Rum Punch, which the director retitled Jackie Brown, one of the most underrated 90s crime movies. Though Tarantino's original screenplays are so colorful and unique, he understands how to adapt Leonard's novels better than anybody.

The Vega Brothers

No director has had a better one-two punch than Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, especially as they were Tarantino's first two movies. And as Reservoir Dogs' Vic and Pulp Fiction's Vincent are brothers, Tarantino had an idea in the 90s to direct the crossover movie The Vega Brothers.

Given that Vic is a psychopath and Vincent is the worst movie hitman, it would have made for one entertaining movie, but Djkmart thinks it still isn't too late. The Redditor argues, "I'd be open to him making it even now, where they're much older in an alternate reality. He's been known to change history, so why not change his own?"

Silver Surfer

LeonardSmallsJr notes that they want to see Tarantino's Silver Surfer and that it'd "be really interesting to see his take on superheroes." It's hard to imagine what a Tarantino-directed superhero movie would look like, especially in the current cinema landscape where comic book movies are shot in front of a green screen and full of digital effects.

That's exactly the opposite of how Tarantino likes to work, but the filmmaker has still shown interest in making a superhero film. According to Comic Book Resources, the director had even written a full script for a Silver Surfer movie, which was completed before he started work on Pulp Fiction, but the studio rejected it.

John Brown

While it might sound like a follow-up to Jackie Brown, especially as everyone in Tarantino's movie universe is related, the John Brown project couldn't be any more opposite. Tarantino has been incredibly vocal in the past about where he stands on biopics; he hates them. According to Slash Film, he thinks they're "just big excuses for actors to win Oscars." However, he was seemingly willing to make one exception.

The director wanted to make a John Brown biopic in 2009, telling Charlie Rose, "My favorite hero in American history is John Brown. He’s my favorite American who ever lived. He single-handedly started the road to end slavery and the fact that he killed people to do it." Thing4thing thinks it would have been a great idea, noting that "QT is at his most interesting when he's trying something new, so I would love to see his take on the biopic."

Kill Bill Vol. 3

Tarantino recently confirmed with Joe Rogan that he's still retiring after 10 movies, and though he's already hit that number, he considers Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 one movie. Of the dozens of different projects that that 10th movie could be, fans want more than anything for it to be Kill Bill Vol. 3. Reddit user TapatioPapi wants to see the threequel come into existence more than anybody else, explaining, "Kill Bill was such a staple growing up. I would kill for a Kill Bill 3."

Kill Bill Vol. 3 has been talked about to no end ever since Vol. 2 was released almost 20 years ago, and there seems to be some kind of news on it every year. Unfortunately, Uma Thurman recently gave a not-too-optimistic update on the project, mentioning that it hasn't been talked about for years.

Django/Zorro Crossover

Django back to back with Zorro

After the huge success of Django Unchained, fans wanted more, and Tarantino surprisingly delivered more by co-writing an unlikely crossover comic book, Django/Zorro. But it didn't end there, as the director had planned to adapt the comic book into a movie sequel, and it got as far as Tarantino hiring comedian Jerrod Carmichael to pen the screenplay.

Thick_Isopod_6778 would have loved to have seen the crossover go into production, positing that it's "something that would've concluded in a Tarantino way." Unfortunately, there have been no updates since it was first reported in 2019, and it'll likely never happen.

Untitled Medieval Project

Almost nothing is known about the medieval project, only that, according to Collider, Helen Mirren was set to star as a "foul-mouthed monarch." There isn't much else that's more Tarantino-sounding than that. Snowballs_Ghost goes into detail about why the project could have been amazing while seemingly criticizing The Last Duel at the same time.

The Redditor argues that medieval films are generally stereotypical and "even when you dye Ben Affleck's hair blonde, they feel compelled to have everyone talk, walk and fight in a particular way." Though there are loads of great medieval movies, as Tarantino has made jaw-dropping westerns and war epics, a revisionist medieval film could have been just as spectacular and bold.

Rambo: First Blood

Rambo: First Blood is an absolute classic and features one of Sylvester Stallone's most iconic roles, but one of the few criticisms of it is that it's fairly tame compared to the novel it's based on. That's exactly why Valhalla70 thinks that a Tarantino-directed remake could be much better, explaining, "the source novel was pretty brutal compared to the Stallone flick."

Tarantino has spoken at length about making a more faithful adaptation of First Blood, and according to The Playlist, he has thought about it so much that he'd know exactly who to cast. Tarantino's remake would star Kurt Russell as the Sheriff and Adam Driver as John Rambo. But even the director himself has said it's unlikely to happen.

Less Than Zero

Brett Easton Ellis is best known for the vulgar American Psycho, but his first novel, Less Than Zero, is what put him on the map. The novel follows a college student who returns home to find that he has become completely different from his childhood friends.

Though it doesn't sound like Tarantino's usual narrative, Baystain explains that Tarantino and the source material "would work wonders together." There already is an adaptation of the novel, which was released in 1987, but given how badly received it was, even despite a starring role from Robert Downey Jr., a remake could work well.
