When Netflix entered the realm of creating its content in 2013, it was only a matter of time before it became involved in the Reality TV space. Reality TV is one of the most popular types of television genres in the 21st century, and if done right, is an almost-guaranteed success.

That being said, with a lot of content comes a lot of opinions, and Netflix viewers have found themselves going to Reddit to express their unpopular opinions about Netflix's forays into reality shows.

Love Shouldn't Be Blind On Love Is Blind

Kyle Abrams and Shaina Hurley getting married in Love Is Blind season 2 in the pods

There are plenty of unpopular opinions Reddit has about Love is Blind, but the one that has to be at the top is Redditor 24601chica's belief that "Love shouldn’t be blind." Disagreeing with the entire premise of Love is Blind is at a whole other level.

24601chica admits this belief was "inspired [mostly] by Shaina and Kyle", who did not end up sticking together in season 2. Their concerns, however, revolve around the fact that seeing who one is going on a date with is a big part of forming a true emotional connection. While they make a good point, it would defeat the whole gimmick of the show.

Love On The Spectrum Infantilizes Its Cast

Michael and his mother, Vanessa, on Love on the Spectrum

Love on the Spectrum focuses on young-adult autistic individuals as they venture out into the dating world. The show focuses on triumphs as much as setbacks, and is overall heartwarming.

The biggest problem PurplePlatypusBear20 had with the show is how it seems to infantilize the contestants. Speaking as a person with a disability, they said "t kind of hurt my feelings that people still can’t treat us like competent adults." The "cutesy music", and some parents' treatment of their children, were particular points of concern.

Michelle Buteau Is A Bad Host Of The Circle

The Circle Michelle Buteau

The Circle is inspired by shows like Big Brother and Catfish, as well as the Black Mirror episode "Nosedive", but manages to still remain its own thing. Although there's plenty to know about host Michelle Buteau, it's pretty much a guarantee that Redditor BrownClown44 won't care about any of it.

Admitting theirs is seemingly an unpopular opinion, BrownClown44 right out says that Buteau "Kinda Sucks." Part of the issue wasn't on her, but rather on the fact that "a host was pointless until the last ... episode." Still, they found Buteau to be overall "cringy" and a poor match for what the show needed.

Rutledge Wood Makes The Floor Is Lava Nearly Unwatchable

Rutledge Wood: Netflix Floor is lava

Another host who drew the strong dislike of a Redditor was Rutledge Wood, host of Netflix's The Floor is Lava. The show is inspired by the childhood game but with a prize of $10,000 for each winner and a focus on having fun, but because of Wood, Reddit user yundermart had no fun at all.

"Rutledge Wood makes The Floor is Lava nearly unwatchable", says the Redditor. According to yundermart, the premise of the show was interesting, but the host's poor jokes absolutely took away from it. As a season 2 is in the works, it seems this was an unpopular view.

Too Hot To Handle's Season 2 Is Better Than Season 1

Too Hot to Handle Season 2 and 1 cast split

Having released three seasons in two years, Too Hot to Handle is one of Netflix's biggest reality show hits. The show follows a group of conventionally-attractive people as they try to live together without hooking up with one another; the cast changes each season.

Redditor PomegranateAfter7310 found themselves holding the opinion that "Season 2 is MUCH better than Season 1" of the American original, which judging by other posts on the subreddit – several of which specifically say the opposite – this opinion is not shared by a majority of the show's fans.

Selling Tampa Is Not That Enjoyable

A spinoff of Selling SunsetSelling Tampa continues its parent show's premise of following the lives of real-estate brokers, but instead of the original Los Angeles setting, goes to Tampa, Florida. Reddit's many fan-favorite Selling Sunset moments boded well for the spinoff, but not everyone was pleased.

Reddit user Ok-Inevitable-3433 "gave up after 10 minutes" of watching the show because of how much it glorifies the wealthy. This Redditor also found that "everyone seems to love Selling Tampa." It's an unpopular opinion, it seems, but definitely not a unique one, either.

Queer Eye's Religious Episodes Aren't That Interesting

Religion can be a touchy subject, and that was definitely the case for cast member Bobby Berk. However, the Queer Eye episodes that touch on religion are often the most well-regarded of the show.

This wasn't Redditor shines_likegold's opinion, however. They were extremely honest in saying "I’m not a big fan of the religious episodes", even though they also believed "it’s extremely important to include them". It's a nuanced opinion, that's for sure.

Next In Fashion's Runway Stunts Distract From The Fashion

Next in Fashion

Next in Fashion's premise is spelled out right in its name. The show is similar in premise to Project Runway, and its second season will be co-hosted by Queer Eye's own Tan France. Basically, it's all about style and, of course, fashion.

Redditor proseccoscampi finds that this is exactly what happens when the show features stunts on the runway: "Crazy runway stunts detracts from the fashion". While many fans definitely enjoy this ostentatious part of the show, it's too bad that it detracts from the experience for this viewer.

Kevin From Bling Empire Comes Off As A Great Guy

Kevin Kreider on Bling Empire brown jacket talking to camera

Reality show cast members can be loved and hated by different fans of the same show, and Kevin from Bling Empire is not exempt from this. Redditor liongoddess1987 proclaimed "I LOVED Kevin" and that they "did not think this would be an unpopular opinion!"

As it turns out, however, it is. Two other users, noodlepoodle123 and SushiShu811, made unrelated posts about how they both disliked Kevin – noodle even called him a "gold digger". Both of these users also believed that this was an unpopular opinion, but based on the numbers, it's the exact opposite. Sorry, Kevin.

Is It Cake?'s Judges Are Unqualified

is it cake judges

Although there are plenty of TV shows like Is It Cake?, no other show airing or streaming quite manages to capture the unique and quirky premise of contestants trying to hide cakes as everyday items. The contest comes with seeing if the judges can tell which item is the cake in disguise.

However, for Redditor Kylargrim, the judges are entirely unqualified to be part of the show. Comparing it to the "Try Guys Without a Recipe" videos, the user said that the Try Guys "get more qualified judges than this show did" for their attempts. Certainly not a shared opinion, considering how popular the show is, but still quite a burn.
