Azeroth has been transformed once again with the release of the World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic expansion on June 1. The new update to World of Warcraft: Classic brings players back to the regions and quests from World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade’s original release in 2007. The new iteration of Burning Crusade unlocks the same features as the original like the Outlands region, the Draenei and Blood Elf races, and the ability to level characters up to level 70.

One of the new areas in which players can adventure is the Hellfire Citadel dungeon. This dungeon is the headquarters of the fel orcs in the Outland. There are three instances within Hellfire Citadel. The last instance, The Shattered Halls, is recommended for players level 70 or higher. However, The Shattered Halls can only be accessed after completing a questline to obtain The Shattered Halls Key. This guide will teach players how to get The Shattered Halls key in World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic.

How to Get the Key to Unlock The Shattered Halls in World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic

Begin the quest by traveling to Shadowmoon Valley in the Outland. Smith Gorlunk, a fel orc, can be found in Shadowmoon Valley by the Black Temple. Kill Smith Gorlunk to receive a Primed Key Mold. Activate the Primed Key Mold to obtain the first quest in the questline to retrieve the key for The Shattered Halls. The rest of this questline varies depending on the faction of that particular character.

Horde players must bring the Primed Key Mold to Nazgrel at Thrallmar in Hellfire Peninsula. Nazgrel sends players to speak with the Master Blacksmithing trainer, Rohok. Rohok asks players to gather resources for him to forge The Shattered Halls key: four Fel Iron Bars, two Arcane Dust, and four Motes of Fire. Once players have gathered these resources, return to Rohok. He attempts to forge The Shattered Halls key but fails. Rohok will then give players an Unfired Key Mold to plunge into the corpse of a Fel Reaver. Players must head to the Fel Reaver in Hellfire Peninsula and use the Unfired Key Mold on its remains, creating a new item called Charred Key Mold. Bring this Charred Key Mold back to Rohok to receive The Shattered Halls Key.

If players have chosen an Alliance character, they will have to follow a slightly different path to retrieve the key for the Burning Crusade dungeon. First, players must bring the Primed Key Mold to Force Commander Danath Trollbane at Honor Hold. He will direct players to the Master Blacksmith Trainer named Dumphrey. Dumphrey will make the same request as Rohok: four Fel Iron Bars, two Arcane Dust, and four Motes of Fire. Bringing the resources back to Dumphrey results in players receiving the Unfired Key Mold, which players must plunge into the corpse of a Fel Reaver to create a Charred Key Mold. Bring the item back to Dumphrey to receive The Shattered Halls key in World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic.
