There is an alternate ending that can be unlocked in Super Mario Galaxy. This guide will show players how they can unlock it. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best-selling Nintendo titles to release on the Wii. The game originally released back in the late 2000s and was a big hit for Mario and Nintendo fans alike. This out-of-this-world adventure brought Mario to various galaxies to collect power stars to help out Rosalina. With enough power stars, the player was able to reach Bowser for the final conflict. While the game does have its own normal ending, there is an alternative version of that ending that players can unlock. This guide will show players how.

The game has recently stepped back into the light due to the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. In this collection, 3 of Mario's biggest 3D adventures were bundled together and sold for the Nintendo Switch. This collection will only be available for a limited time and will be removed from both physical shops and the digital shop at the end of March 2021. It is unknown why Nintendo would do this since this is the only game on the Nintendo Switch being released for a short time period. For those who do own the game, there is much to discover within each adventure. Here's how players can unlock the secret ending in Super Mario Galaxy.

How To Unlock The Secret Ending in Super Mario Galaxy

Bowser in Super Mario Galaxy

To unlock the ending, the player will need to collect all 120 power stars during their playthrough as Mario. Once the player has done this, they must speak with Rosalina to challenge Bowser for the final time. After defeating Bowser with all 120 power stars, a new version of the ending will play that is completely separate from the original. Without stepping into spoiler territory, it's a small change that gives a bit of a better understanding of Rosalina as a character. Players will then also unlock Luigi as a playable character.

Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine also join Super Mario Galaxy in this massive collection. The game also comes along with a digital version of each of the game's soundtracks. The music that plays in Super Mario Galaxy has this magical orchestral score that blows the other entries out of the water. Also, its sequel, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the only classic 3D Mario adventure completely missing from this collection. It is unknown why but it has been a massive upset for fans of the sequel. Still, Super Mario Galaxy remains as one of the best 3D Mario titles.
