Now that NBA 2K22 Season 4 is officially underway, some players have the opportunity to be among the first to earn Legend Status in the game. Season 4 offers multiple new rewards for players to unlock in MyCAREER and MyTEAM, including first-time rewards such as Legend Status. Legend Status can only be earned by those who have been most dedicated to NBA 2K22 since the first season, but, now that the requirements can be met, all players can earn Legend Status in the future if not in Season 4 of NBA 2K22.

Legend Status is a new addition to the NBA 2K22 City affiliation feature as well as to MyTEAM. In addition to the new content added to MyTEAM through the NBA 2K22 Seasons, The City has also seen improvements and changes that reflect the new content. As players on current-gen platforms have likely experienced already, The City is a constantly changing environment that also updates its themes based on the theme of the Season.

The only way to earn Legend Status in The City and MyTEAM is by reaching Level 40 in NBA 2K22 for four seasons in the open-world environment. While these Seasons do not necessarily have to be consecutive, it does mean that any players who failed to reach Level 40 in at least one previous Season of NBA 2K22 will be unable to obtain Legend Status in Season 4. Reaching Level 40 is easier for those who have every NBA 2K22 badge, but new players who are just getting into the swing of MyTEAM and MyCAREER will likely find that reaching Level 40 can be a time-consuming process.

The easiest way to reach Level 40 in Season 4 of NBA 2K22 is by completing the quests that refresh every week throughout the season. There are also many opportunities to earn XP by competing in various games around The City, such as Rooftops. Thankfully, one of the updates to Season 4 has also made vehicle travel easier, allowing players to get from activity to activity more quickly as well. Players should keep updated with the latest available locker codes in NBA 2K22, as these rewards can also sometimes help earn them more XP quickly.

Season 4 of NBA 2K22 includes new challenges and Agenda tasks for players to complete and introduces double Signature Challenges for the first time in a MyTEAM Season. Players who were committed enough to reach Level 40 in Seasons one through three and complete the Unlimited Showdown Tier in Season 3 will already have Level 40 unlocked in Season 4 if they haven't logged in since it began. Completing the Season 3 Unlimited Showdown Tier in NBA 2K22 earned players 150,000 XP when Season 4 began, meaning there are likely already a few players who have Legend Status unlocked.
