Universal Orlando Adds Marvel Character Dinner Experience

Visitors to Universal Orlando will soon be able to dine with their favorite Marvel heroes as the theme park introduces a brand new attraction called the Marvel Character Dinner experience.

With the renewed popularity of superheroes that has spilled into the mainstream audience brought about by the numerous the comic book-centric blockbusters and TV shows, amusement parks are also trying to give fans a brand new experience with their favorite heroes beyond just watching them on screen. This is exactly what Universal Orlando is trying to do with their brand new attraction that would not just satiate tourists' appetite for their favorite Marvel characters but also for sumptuous food.

A press statement posted on Universal Orlando's official website announces the upcoming feature that will allow visitors to interact with Marvel heroes such as Captain America, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, and Rogue while they feast on a buffet offering a wide variety of food choices. Fresh salads like orzo and mozzarella and tomato, as well as, roasted rosemary lemon chicken, shrimp scampi and chicken scallopini are expected to be part of the extensive menu among many others. Meanwhile, for Italian cuisine lovers out there, penne Bolognese, stuffed jumbo shells and specialty pizzas are also available and to cap it all off, a dessert spread that would satisfy everyone with a sweet tooth.

It's interesting that Marvel properties under Marvel Studios such as Cap and Spider will be appearing in the Diner experience alongside the mutants who are currently under the management of 20th Century Fox. It will be a great feature especially with the characters being able to directly interact with diners by taking photos and even just a short chit-chat as they go from table to table.  Fortunately, with the reportedly rejuvenated talks regarding Fox and Disney merger, fans may not have to wait for too long to see the two groups of Marvel heroes appearing together on the big and small screen.

It is unclear if Universal Orlando is planning to add more characters to their available roster in the future. But as of now, Marvel Character Dinners will be available starting on December 7 and will be run every week from Thursday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Reservations are strongly advised and large groups are accommodated. Meanwhile, those who want to take advantage of the experience during breakfast, the same attraction will also be available on select days at Loews Royal Pacific Resort and Hard Rock Hotel.
