Unexpected star McKayla Adkins is under fire for spending $2500 on a wig. Fans started coming for her after she posted on her story an expensive wig she wanted to buy, the internet trolls were not too far behind. McKayla is an OG of the Unexpected docu-series, which documents teen mothers.
She appeared on the first season of the show with then-boyfriend Caelan. They welcomed their baby boy, and they went on to have another baby girl. Her grandparents were not happy that she got pregnant twice, but they eventually accepted it and supported her. McKayla and Caelan’s relationship was on a steady decline and although they initially hoped to stay together, those hopes were dashed. What ensued was a messy custody battle. The relationship between the two seems to still be tense, as McKayla was annoyed when he posted a video of their children on TikTok. Now, it appears that Caelan has visitation rights.
Since their split, McKayla has moved on and joined many other reality stars like Larissa and Elizabeth on the adult platform, OnlyFans. McKayla boasted in her Instagram bio that she is in the top 0.4% of creators, which means the endeavor has been very lucrative for her. With money like that coming in McKayla decided to purchase a $2,500 wig and fans on Reddit had a lot to say about it. People were confused as to why she was buying such an expensive wig, but it is because she had excessive damage due to a hairdresser “melting it off.” Fans started to drag her and said, “She's always trying to convince people she's loaded. Some people buy it, others don't and I'm from the latter.” McKayla bought the wig from influencer Dani Austin, and it is called the Heidi wig. Some fans were not necessarily mad about the fact she bought an expensive wig but rather the style of the wig. “I prefer how she looks without bangs. This is not the wig I would’ve picked for her but if she likes it then great. Looks like good quality and maybe a good investment considering her OF.”
There were also a lot of fans who were simply happy for her and expressed admiration for the new look and many wondered why so many people were upset. While she was on the show, many people called her immature and spoiled.
