Under the Dome star Mike Vogel has furthered his ties with the unknown in joining the ABC sci-fi/fantasy pilot called Triangle. The pilot revisits the well-known myth of the Bermuda Triangle while adding a substantial twist.

After starting a career mainly serving as a supporting character in films such as The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cloverfield, Vogel quickly displayed his knack for handling leading roles. Audiences have recently seen Vogel in short-lived NBC series The Brave, as well as remember him from the sci-fi drama Under the Dome penned by Stephen King, which aired on CBS. Now Vogel is set to add ABC to his TV resume, as the network has added him to the cast of upcoming pilot Triangle.

According to TV Line, Vogel will play the leading role of David Roman  - an orphan with a miserable past trying to reinvent his life with his daughter Alex and fiance Natalie. The trio set off in a boat for a tropical vacation only to be overcome by a storm and stranded in a strange land. The premise for Triangle promises to leave the audience staggered at the concept, as the land in which the family is stranded is the infamous Bermuda Triangle. Meaning, the mythical section of the Atlantic Ocean is not a watery grave, but a place where those captured over the course of human history now reside.

Triangle is in the hands of executive producers Jon Feldman (Designated Survivor) and Sonny Postiglione (Life On Mars), who've also penned the pilot script. As the premiere date of Triangle gets closer, more details will be revealed, including the additional casting choices of Vogel’s onscreen loved ones and the details of other characters who'll hail from different time periods.

The pilot for Triangle joins the list of highly anticipated shows in search of a series order by ABC, including a reboot of NYPD Blue and new drama Stumptown starring Cobie Smulders. In order for it to stake a claim as a series with longevity, all those involved will have to give the Bermuda Triangle a new look. The Bermuda Triangle has been an unexplained phenomena since the days of Christopher Columbus, and a popular plotline in Hollywood as seen in Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters, The Triangle and The X-Files. Many actors have had their hand in dealing with the nicknamed Devil’s Triangle, and now it's Vogel’s turn to deal with the unexplained forces in the ABC pilot Triangle.
