Sony unveils the Uncharted final trailer revealing a flying pirate ship battle between Nathan Drake, Sully and fortune hunter Moncada. Based on Naughty Dog's adventure video game franchise, the movie centers on young adventurer Nathan Drake as he meets his future mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan and embarks on a journey to find the long-lost Magellan's gold. Additionally, Drake will follow a trail of clues to find his missing brother, Sam, who Sully seemingly has a past with.

Tom Holland is leading the cast of Uncharted as Drake, having been attached to the project for five years through multiple directors, alongside Mark Wahlberg as Sully, who was once attached to star as Drake in an early incarnation of the adaptation. The two are joined by Antonio Banderas as the antagonist Moncada, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Pilou Asbæk in an undisclosed role. Following 14 years of languishing in development hell, Uncharted is finally gearing up to hit theaters in February and Sony is looking to keep anticipation high for the long-awaited adaptation.

Those familiar with the Uncharted video games may find the reveal of the flying pirate ship battle an interesting expansion of the Pirate Colony map from the multiplayer mode of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, in which players could swing around a large ship as they hunt down fellow players. Many took to immediately pointing out the clear recreation of the moment in the 2016 title in which Drake discovers pirate Henry Avery's ship hidden in a cave in the original Uncharted trailer as Tom Holland's Drake emerges from the water into a cavern holding two ships. The final trailer also offers better insight into the hand-to-hand combat Holland and his co-stars engage in over their race to get to Magellan's gold, including the previously teased sword fight with Drake and Sully.

The Uncharted final trailer electing to better show off the flying pirate ship fight also marks a nice evolution of the previous marketing highlighting the film's plane crash sequence. Akin to fellow Sony/Holland film Spider-Man: No Way Home and its bridge fight with Doc Ock, many have critiqued Uncharted's clips and posters putting so much focus on the plane crash, making the reveal of new footage a good change of pace to keep audiences interested in the long-gestating adaptation. The wait is nearly over as Uncharted is set to hit theaters on February 18.
