A new video detailing Sony employees' drive to customer satisfaction features the first footage from the Tom Holland-led Uncharted adaptation. The film centers on up-and-coming fortune hunter Nathan Drake as he and his father figure Victor "Sully" Sullivan begin their adventures together. The cast for the film is led by Holland and Mark Wahlberg and also stars Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Tati Gabrielle.

The film is based on Naughty Dog's video game franchise of the same name and has languished in development hell for the better part of 12 years. After multiple shifts in filmmakers and screenwriters, Venom director Ruben Fleischer finally landed the directing gig in early 2020 with Iron Man duo Art Marcum and Matt Holloway set to pen the script for the film. Following multiple release and production delays due to the ongoing global pandemic, the film is finally set to hit theaters come February 2022.

In a new video from the studio featuring testimonials from staff members of its various departments, Sony has unveiled the first footage from the film adaptation of the beloved game series. Though brief, the first footage offers a glimpse at Holland's Drake and Wahlberg's Sullivan. The footage can be viewed below:

Admittedly, the footage is very brief and doesn't offer much in the way of a proper look at what fans can expect from the story or style of the film. That being said, what it does at least indicate is that post-production on the title is either progressing nicely or is nearing its conclusion and that fans can look forward to seeing more in the coming months. Given the recent new image teasing Drake and Sully exploring what appeared to be ancient ruins, Sony does appear to be hungry to drum up even higher anticipation than the film has already had for the past decade.

Apart from not really showing enough of what to look forward to for the film, the only real flaw the first Uncharted footage points to is a real lack of facial hair from Wahlberg's mentor character, but with his set photos promising Sully's iconic mustache will appear, those concerns should be soothed for now. Plus, while some might be more anxious to see the adventure film arrive sooner rather than later, audiences can look forward to Tom Holland returning to the big screen later this year when Spider-Man: No Way Home debuts in December. For now, viewers will have to wait and see what Sony has in store for the video game adaptation when a proper trailer drops sometime soon.
