Uncharted 2 can answer many questions as to how the films will continue to adapt the original games - including revealing the casting of the original Uncharted's missing video game characters. The first Uncharted movie adapted its source material selectively, leaving some plot details and characters on the wayside for future installments to pick up on down the line. On some level, this makes sense, as while Tom Holland was an excellent casting choice for Nathan Drake, choosing the right actors for certain roles could be contentious - explaining why some figures were left until the Uncharted 2 movie or later to be introduced.

Though one of Nate's love interests - Chloe Frazer - was featured in the first Uncharted, audiences were disappointed that his main love interest, Elena Fisher, didn't feature at all in the movie. Nadine Ross, too, was omitted from the movie. This is despite her being a key pivot in the storylines of the Uncharted movie's current and future characters. Interwoven in Chloe Frazer, Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher, and Rafe Adler's stories, Nadine Ross is one of the franchise's most important characters.

Since the first movie had to appeal to both the game supporters and prospective new Uncharted audiences, the filmmakers had to prioritize the involvement of certain characters first. The Uncharted sequel offers the chance to introduce some of the franchise's most loved protagonists and antagonists. Who would play Nathan Drake and Sully in the Uncharted movie was naturally the focus of the first movie, but the Uncharted 2 casting is still paramount to the movie franchise's potential success.

Elena Fisher

Audiences were most disappointed when Nathan Drake's main love interest, Elena Fisher didn't appear in Uncharted - so her appearance in Uncharted 2 would be a timely one. Almost the female version of Drake, Elena mirrors much of Nathan's intelligence and charm, but tends to be more naive and compassionate in the face of treasure-hunting realities. Lili Reinhart, known for playing Betty Cooper in Riverdale, not only looks like Elena but would be able to mirror Drake's cavalier attitude towards his opponents, as well as Elena's sense of humor. It would be interesting to see how Holland and Reinhart would comically play off each other on-screen.

Nadine Ross

Spider Man Casting Zendaya

Nadine is known throughout the Uncharted series to be ruthless, cool-headed, and endlessly courageous. Sony's recent Uncharted game changes could pave the way for her entrance to an Uncharted sequel appearance. Though Zendaya's recent roles in the MCU's Spider-Man movies and the Euphoria show are very different from a character such as Nadine Ross, Zendaya is renowned for her versatility. Able to swing from Rue's emotional outbursts to MJ's collected reactions to Peter Parker's antics, it would not be beyond the actress to play a cool-headed and strong character. Nadine and Nathan Drake also often clash in the series, and so it would be interesting to see how such a dynamic would play on-screen between Zendaya and Tom Holland.

Charlie Cutter

Though Dominic Purcell often delivered serious performances in Prison Break and other roles, he is capable of delivering the charm and comedy that an actor playing Uncharted series character Charlie Cutter ought to bring. Behind-the-scenes footage of Purcell and interviews with Wentworth Miller show Purcell is naturally funny - a detail that is supported by the comedic moments that crop up throughout his acting career. Purcell possesses the dramatic ability to appear intimidating, but bring a humorous touch - which, combined with his visual resemblance to Charlie Cutter, makes him a solid fit for the role. With Cutter in the games existing as a figure initially thought to be antagonistic, his arrival in Uncharted 2 would work to add suspense and an enjoyable (if already known) plot twist to the movie.

Atoq Navarro

The main antagonist of Drake's Fortune, Atoq Navarro led Gabriel Roman's private army and had extensive knowledge of Incan mythology, giving him a headstart in the acquisition of Peruvian artifacts. Though Benjamin Bratt's appearance in Miss Congeniality saw him play Sandra Bullock's clumsy love interest, his appearance in Snitch presented him as an actor capable of asserting a strong, conniving villain. Not only does Bratt possess a similar chiseled look to Navarro, but he would also be able to convey a harsh Uncharted movie villain given his previous experience in the role, and would work well as the antagonist of Uncharted 2 or even a further away installment of the movie series.

Rafe Adler

Jake Gyllenhaal's acting career directly plays into him taking on the role of Rafe Adler - as well as the fact the pair look so alike its been speculated that Rafe's design was based on the actor himself. Rafe's ill-temper and selfish personality are traits of Gyllenhaal's characters in Prisoners and Nightcrawler respectively, as well there being notable similarities between Adler and Gyllenhaal's more recent villain role as Mysterio in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It is easy to imagine the actor in such a complex role, which would require him double-crossing Nathan Drake after being long-term business partners. Rafe's appearance in an Uncharted sequel movie would likely see him introduced with his full charisma on show, only to turn on Tom Holland's Nathan Drake after their bond had been established to audiences - potentially after several other movies - perfectly meshing with Jake Gyllenhaal's history of playing characters equal parts charismatic and unscrupulous.

Naturally, the actual Uncharted 2 casting will remain an entertaining mystery until the official confirmation of the actors set to appear in the next installment. Even then, building the characters up and showcasing the complex and intertwined relationships between many of them will take time, and the Uncharted sequel may only be able to lay the groundwork. However, if done right, the Uncharted 2 casting selection could well make the movie appeal to new viewers and game franchise audiences at the same time, spelling financial and critical success for the movie series.
