Madlyn Ballatori and Colby Kissinger from The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On are expecting their second child. The couple appeared on the Netflix reality series, which was created by the same team that produced Love Is Blind, back in April 2022. Despite many bumps in the road, they ultimately chose to take their relationship to the next level. In the Ultimatum season 1 finale, Madlyn accepted Colby's proposal, and they went on to get married that very same day. Then during The Ultimatum season 1 reunion, the pair announced Madlyn's pregnancy.

Now, almost a year after the Nick and Vanessa Lacey-hosted series was released, The Ultimatum's Madlyn and Colby are still going strong and expanding their family. Madlyn announced her pregnancy news via Instagram on Monday, January 23. The post included multiple pictures of the happy couple with daughter Josie, who wore a "big sister" shirt. Madlyn began the caption by revealing their second child is due in September.

"Colby and I could not be more excited and THANKFUL for the blessing we already have in Josie and now for this new little one to come," she wrote, adding, "I’m not sure how our hearts can even hold more love but I cannot wait to find out!" She also expressed how much they were looking forward to Josie as a big sister. The captioned indicated that they do not currently know if they are having a boy or girl.

The Ultimatum Cast Reacts To Madlyn & Colby Baby News

The comments section included congratulations from Ultimatum co-stars like Rae Williams, as well as Love Is Blind's Jessica Batten. Ultimatum fan-favorite April Marie, who was partnered with Colby for the weeks-long trial marriage, wrote, "YAY YAY YAY," along with emojis. Madlyn's trial marriage partner Randall Griffin also sent congratulations. Even Alexis Parr, who feuded with the soon-to-be father-of-two on The Ultimatum, commented. Because The Ultimatum was filmed months in advance, the spouses didn't share their first pregnancy on social media until after the reunion aired. Throughout the season, however, it seemed more likely that they would've chosen to move on.

Madlyn frequently spoke of her annoyances with Colby and negatively compared him to Randall. In one of The Ultimatum's most memorable moments, she drunkenly gushed over Randall in front of his girlfriend Shanique Imari. Madlyn and Colby also had a huge fight after he told people they were in an open relationship, which was not the case. However, it's possible these obstacles made their bond stronger. In addition to getting married, they were also one of the few couples to actually stay together. Shanique and Randall broke up but then reconciled. Alexis and Hunter Parr, who left The Ultimatum early, wed a few months later.

Though the social experiment format is unusual, both of the Nick and Vanessa Lachey-hosted Netflix shows have found great success--and not just because both have actually resulted in marriages among the contestants. Both Love Is Blind and The Ultimatum have received spin-offs based in different countries. The latter show is set to return for a second season featuring only queer couples, which is titled The Ultimatum: Queer Love. Fans will have to wait and see how the contestants fare in that season and if any couples find the same shocking success as Madlyn and Colby have.

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On season 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
