Tyra Banks has been a familiar face on screens and magazine spreads across the globe, and her move to reality TV and production takes no one by surprise. Tyra is always storming the entertainment grounds for the next big thing. Her move to Dancing With the Stars was a surprise for many, as fans face mixed reactions week after week - a mixture of disappointment, surprise, or support.

Throughout the season, Tyra has tried and succeeded to keep things fresh on the dancefloor and for the viewers at home. She went there with her several outfits and looks, treating the dancefloor like her runway. She also made it a point to not try to fill the shoes of her predecessors, Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, but to revolutionize the way the show's host interacts with the dancers, judges, and most importantly, the audience.

US Weekly has rounded up just about everything Tyra Banks has said about hosting one of her favorite reality TV shows, DWTS. When the news first broke that she was to be joining the show as its newest host, Tyra released a public statement saying, “I’ve been a fan of DWTS since its beginning. The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances. It’s always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk. Tom has set a powerful stage, and I’m excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats.” The energy levels she brought to the dancefloor were high. She came to DWTS ready to stand out.

Her mother was encouraging from day one, so when the opportunity arose, and Tyra asked her mom about the gig, "She was like, ‘Girl, I’m the first person that told you about that damn show! I told you to turn on the TV. The stars is dancing.’ She was the first person to tell me, and I turned it on and couldn’t look away. And so I said, ‘Yeah, I think I can bring something to this."

Tyra opened up on the legacy hosts Bergeron and Andrews created. In an exclusive with US Weekly, she says, "[I’m] respecting the stage that they have set and then adding my icing to that. I feel confident about that, but of course, it's a challenge, but I don’t back away from challenges." She is always quick to address when her attempts fail, and following an elimination mishap that shook the Internet world, and angered some contestants. Her outlook? "Forgive yourself when you mess up and keep going." She took to Twitter to say: “Wowzers. Live TV. Wrong name on cards. So challenging to deal with moments like these. But we power through.” Speaking to US Weekly in September, Tyra reiterated, saying, "Every host messes up. It’s just normal. It’s live TV. If it wasn’t live, there would be no mess-ups. Even on America’s Next Top Model, I would mess up and tell my editors to leave it in. That’s what makes things human and makes things alive. […] It’s better than being like a doll.

With the season over, many fans have taken to creating petitions against Tyra coming back for Season 30. Banks has yet to comment specifically on the matter, however, she has taken to Instagram to say, "Already can’t wait until next season where you know we will take it up 10 notches. Cuz that’s how we do." But we want to know what ScreenRant readers are thinking. Whether she succeeded or failed is ultimately up to you; so would you like to see Tyra Banks come back to host another season?
