Tyler Posey gained fame starring as Scott McCall on the MTV supernatural series Teen Wolf, which aired from 2011-2017, and the actor has since had a busy career in TV, movie and voice roles. MTV's loose take on the 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox was much darker than its source material with Scott and his best friend Stiles fighting evil in the town of Beacon Falls. Teen Wolf won three Saturn Awards for Best Youth-Orientated Television Series. Posey received nine Teen Choice Awards nominations and won in 2012 and 2017 for Choice Summer TV Star: Male.

Teen Wolf turned Posey into a household name, but he worked steadily before landing the role appearing as Jennifer Lopez's son in Maid in Manhattan as well as scoring small-screen parts on Brothers & Sisters, Doc, and Lincoln Heights. Posey was considered for the role of Jacob Black in the movie Twilight, but lost the part to Taylor Lautner. Posey has worked alongside three actors who have played Clark Kent/Superman. Posey appeared in Smallville, starring Tom Welling, in 2006. His Teen Wolf co-star Dylan Sprayberry played a young Clark in Man of Steel, and Tyler Hoechlin took on the iconic role in the Arrowverse.

Posey's mother, Cyndi Garcia, died of breast cancer in 2014. The actor told People, "She was the glue that held our family together." Posey admits he became depressed, but focusing on Teen Wolf helped him heal. He became a producer on the popular series and directed season 6's "After Images." He and his younger brother Jesse produced a revival of his father, John Posey's play Father, Son, & Holy Coach in 2016.

In June, the Teen Wolf cast reunited for a virtual reunion to celebrate the show's 9th anniversary. Posey has been vocal about wanting to do a reboot. He took to Twitter in March to plead his case to MTV, writing, "I think it's time to bring the teen wolf back for new episodes. First Jersey shore family vacation. Now teen wolf high school reunion. I'm ready. And 28, so it's an appropriate age." The network's social media manager replied, "I wish I possessed this power!!!." Whatever career triumphs or letdowns await Posey, Teen Wolf fans still hope to see him one day return to the role of Scott McCall.
