One of the most anticipated films of the summer and based on what might be one of the best cartoons in recent years, The Last Airbender is set to bring M.Night Shyamalan back into the limelight and return him to glory.
The big budget fantasy epic is coming at us in 3D and is set to kick-off a trilogy of films for Paramount Pictures. Two brand new posters f0r The Last Airbender have just been released by IGN and they're pretty epic, a must-see for fans of the series and folks interested in the movie.
The two posters, similar to the previous The Last Airbender character posters, feature the film's protagonist and title character, Aang and the villainous Prince Zuko. Except this time, instead of their powers representing the background we get a full on showcase of their bending skills.

The latest The Last Airbender movie trailer really focused on the bending abilities and the visuals used to bring these powers to life. The posters further showcase that aspect of the adaptation. I understand fantasy and incredible powers are key to marketing but I hope to see the story and characters done justice as well. The TV series was a well-structured story which brought audiences in on the journey of the main characters and told a strong adventure tale. I hope Shyamalan structures the film in the same way and lays a strong foundation for the trilogy.
I love these posters and perhaps it's my biased toward the cartoon series which is one of my all-time favorites, but I really get pulled into the fantasy when staring at the posters, the bending effects and the background of each.
Joining Dev Patel and Noah Ringer in the cast of The Last Airbender are Jackson Rathbone, Nicola Peltz, Cliff Curtis, Jessica Andres and Shaun Toub.
What bender would you be if you had the choice? Fire, Water, Air or Earth?
