Two And A Half Men is a comedy masterpiece that still continues to garner millions of fans even after it went off air long time ago, in 2015. The main plot revolves around a happy go lucky guy Charlie who lives in a beach house in Malibu. But, his life turns upside down when his brother and young nephew move in. He is forced to rethink his ways of life and is hilariously stuck between his desires and helpless love for his family. It is amusing to note that Charlie Harper is loosely based off of real life Charlie Sheen. Today, we shall be sharing with you ten things about the show’s Charlie, that don’t make any sense.

Charlie’s Daughter

One consistent thing throughout the series (until Charlie Sheen was fired), was Charlie mulling over how he had no child of his own. It was clear that he loved kids for occasional time periods(a few days a week) and craved for a family of his own.

He claimed several times that he had no kids and most of the times he was happy about it, but, sometimes he lamented over not being a father or a husband himself. But, all of a sudden, in the 11th season, a daughter magically appears out of nowhere and it is revealed that he was supporting her all the time. It is shown in an episode that he knew he had a daughter, but then, why was he shown to be thinking that he had no children?

Who Sleeps With A Goat?

For the first few seasons, Charlie does not care much about Rose. He even tries very hard to ignore her, but, eventually he realizes that she is possibly the only woman who actually ever cared for him regardless of however he behaves. In the eighth season, towards the end, Charlie eventually marries Rose. But, he manages to get her mad at him again when she finds him sleeping with a French maid and a goat. Who sleeps with a goat? Charlie is indeed a womanizer and is addicted to sex, but, he is not at all crazy like Rose, to sleep with a mere animal!

Source Of Wealth

Charlie spends like there is no tomorrow. Also, he is never shown to be working for it. For more than half of the day, he is either sleeping or drinking. The rest of the day he loves to spend with young women or prostitutes and sometimes both.

He writes one jingle or two sometimes and still keeps getting royalty checks all round the year. Even Charlie Waffle Association won’t keep sending checks beyond a time. Where does all this money keep falling in his lap from?

He Fell For Lydia!

Charlie’s childhood was not exactly normal. His father died when he was very young due to food poisoning. He had three weird stepfathers for short terms and they did not play a good or a significant role in his life. His mother Evelyn was not a role model or a decent mother either. She is shown to be extremely selfish and prude. He has been claiming throughout the series how much he hates his mother and the feeling is equally and mutually shared with his brother. However, what does not make any sense is how he fell head over heels for a woman named Lydia who is a real estate agent too, and is exactly like their mother (in looks as well as attitude).

Karma Is Not A Bitch

Charlie is basically a nightmare of all religious gurus. He lazes around, drinks, does not work and regularly indulges in what is considered to be sin. And yet, he is flourishing like a spring bloom. How does a man stay healthy when he doesn’t drink even a sip of water? He only gulps beer, champagne, alcohol, never water.

He regularly seduces women irrespective of their social status and never has to face any consequences. His family or the girlfriends seem to be thrown under the bus every time he does something.

Why Did Charlie Want To Get Back At Walden?

It is revealed in the last season that Charlie was alive all along. He was kidnapped and confined in the basement of Rose’s new house which she bought right after moving back to the state. The character is not played by Charlie Sheen and is never shown explicitly. It is shown several times that Charlie Harper has been texting threatening messages to Walden. In fact, Charlie was confined long before Walden even came into picture! How did he know about Walden and why did he want to take revenge from him or his brother Alan?

Charlie Wanted Him!

It is revealed that Charlie specifically asked his parents for a baby brother as Christmas gift. And nine months later, Alan was born. Since Charlie wanted a baby brother, logically he should have pulled the stars down, for him, but, he never treated Alan well.

Growing up, he used to mock him in front of his friends. He bullied him, made him take all the blames for whatever he did and once even tied him to a lamp post for the whole night. And most importantly, he never taught him the skill to charm girls, which Alan always mentions sadly.

How Did He Forget That?

Mia is a ballet teacher whom Charlie met for the very first time in his favorite café. She was holding a book in her hand while sipping a mug of coffee. He immediately fell for her and ignored Alan continuously for as long as she was there. She refused to even talk to him and eventually left with her book. Later, Charlie charms her and starts dating her. Both get in a serious relationship. Mia and Charlie both have previously mentioned that Charlie has already met her parents twice. Yet when her father is shown for the first time on screen, she introduces him to Charlie!

What Happened With Mia?

Charlie met Mia in the third season. He truly cared for her and even practiced abstinence according to her wish. She seemed like she was the one for him and they even planned their wedding intricately, which is in absolute contrast to Charlie’s nature. But, at the wedding, he calls it off when she put a condition (of throwing Alan and Jake out of his house) in front of him. He had himself said several times how anxious he was, to get Alan and Jake out of the house. Why then, did he call his wedding off with Mia?

How Did He End Up With Rose?

From the first season itself, Charlie himself has established the fact that Rose is freaking crazy. They had had a one night stand long time ago, much before the current storyline and since then, she had been stalking him everywhere. She once even went to the extent to gluing his testicles to his thighs. In the sixth and seventh seasons, he is shown to be realizing that she truly cares for him in her own mad, psychopath way, but, at the same time he seems to be well aware of her crazy mind. How then, did he agree to marry her in the eighth season?
