Although Twilight granted supernatural powers to many of the saga’s main vampire characters, Rosalie Hale was never given any abilities in the movie adaptations of the bestselling novels. Based on Stephanie Meyer's best-selling books, the Twilight series changed traditional vampire rules in numerous ways. For one thing, the saga’s bloodsuckers didn’t need to drink human blood to survive - but could instead subsist on animal blood alone if they so chose.

Twilight's vampires were also able to walk in the sunlight, although doing so exposed their infamous sparkly skin and made them identifiable to humans. However, one of the most controversial changes that the Twilight saga made to vampire lore was the fact that the books granted each vampire a unique supernatural power. At least, that was what Twilight purported to add to the vampire mythos when, in reality, many of Twilight’s vampires don’t have a special power, even though others do - including the Cullen family member Rosalie.

Rosalie Hale was adopted by Esme and Carlisle Cullen before Twilight’s story begins, with Carlisle saving her life by turning her into a vampire during her dark canonical backstory. However, becoming a vampire didn’t grant Rosalie a special power in the Twilight movie adaptations, and there is a canon justification for this. According to the Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide, Rosalie Hale/Cullen doesn’t possess any quantifiable supernatural power, much like her adopted parents, meaning that she also has no powers at all in the Twilight movies.

Rosalie stands in the Cullen house in The Twilight Saga

According to the Twilight novels, Rosalie Cullen/Hale is considered the most beautiful vampire in the saga’s world. This trait, while sometimes mistaken for a power, doesn’t officially qualify as one according to the rules of the Twilight movies. Much in the same way as it could be argued that Carlisle’s willpower constitutes a superhuman strength, Rosalie’s beauty is arguably as much of a power as Jasper’s ability to control the emotions of others. Nevertheless, she doesn’t have an official supernatural ability like Jasper, Alice, or Edward, despite possessing this passive quality and taking advantage of her beauty throughout the Twilight series. Given how tangible some other vampire’s abilities are in the Twilight franchise, it makes sense that the official canon doesn't refer to Rosalie’s appearance as an ability.

Much like vampires in its rival franchise The Vampire Diaries were capable of incredible feats of strength, super speed, and some forms of magic; most of Twilight’s vampires possessed the ability to overpower humans, outrun them, and survive almost any climate. As a result, giving Rosalie Hale additional power alongside these attributes would not have added much to the plot of the Twilight movies given how limited her role is in them. In contrast, the Cullens who display supernatural abilities use them gratuitously in the Twilight movies, thus justifying the existence of these powers in the film series' plot.
