Official 'Breaking Dawn' Plot Synopsis

Kristen Stewart Talks Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn

It's highly unlikely that there are a large number of Twihards out there who have not yet read author Stephenie Meyer's novel The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn less than half a dozen times already.

An official plot synopsis has been released for both halves of Breaking Dawn, the finale in the blockbuster teen-vampire-shapeshifter romance franchise, and should offer insight into the plot for those few that are Twilight movie fans only.

Read on for Summit Entertainment's official description of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (note: there are SPOILERS ahead):

In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster 'The Twilight Saga', the newfound married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.

After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.

But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.

Official Breaking Dawn plot synopsis

Oscar-winner Bill Condon is directing both halves of Breaking Dawn and has assembled an impressive creative team to help realize the Twilight finale on the big screen. While it seems that Breaking Dawn won't be shot in 3D (post-production conversion is still an option), both Part 1 and Part 2 are surefire box office hits and will make back their production costs several times over - regardless of whether or not they are shown only in 2D.

Pretty much everyone now knows whether they are fans of the moody, supernatural fantasy series or if the mere mention of "Team Edward" makes their skin crawl. Twilight fans love the franchise, which has more than its share of detractors who are adamant about their stance - so we'll just leave it at that.

Breaking Dawn: Part 1 arrives in theaters in the U.S. on November 18th, 2011. Part 2 will not be released until a year later on November 16th, 2012.
