A new poster for Rick and Michonne Grimes' upcoming The Walking Dead spinoff has seemingly confirmed their series' title. Prior to The Walking Dead's final stretch of episodes in the ongoing season 11C, AMC announced 3 new spinoff shows to air in 2023 which will continue the stories of popular characters from the original series. The first of these, The Walking Dead: Dead City, airs in April of next year, showcasing Negan and Maggie's journey to New York City for undisclosed reasons. Wrapped in the same amount of mystery is Daryl Dixon, which sees Norman Reedus' crossbow-wielding survivor brought to France against his will.

The third highly-anticipated Walking Dead spinoff will feature Rick and Michonne in what's been described by showrunner Scott M. Gimple as "an epic love story," following the pair after their departures from the main show in previous seasons. Given how the characters exited the flagship series, it's likely audiences will see what happened to Rick after being captured by the CRM, alongside Michonne's journey to find him over 6 years later. The show will mark the first time The Walking Dead's former protagonist - Rick Grimes - has appeared in the franchise since 2018, and Danai Gurira's reprisal as Michonne since the character left in 2020.

Rick and Michonne Poster Title Reveal

As reported by ComicBook, AMC+ has released new posters for The Walking Dead's upcoming spinoff shows, including one that seemingly confirms the title of Rick and Michonne's series. The poster features a still of the characters from a previous Walking Dead episode and appears to confirm their series will be titled Rick & Michonne. This format is similar to how Daryl Dixon will be titled, as revealed back in October.

Everything We Know About Rick & Michonne

Rick and Michonne together in Walking Dead

With Rick & Michonne's title possibly revealed, Gimple appears to be keeping the secret of its major story beats close to his chest by naming the series after its main characters. According to Gimple, Rick and Michonne's love story will be compounded by familiar versions of the characters, teasing the return of "red machete Rick," a brutal, survivalist side of Rick last seen in season 5 of the main show. Additionally, Gurira is the co-creator of Rick & Michonne, making her input invaluable to the way Rick and Michonne's story will be presented. Gurira has echoed the love story elements of the series, implying the structure of the show could see Rick and Michonne united sooner than expected.

There are still many mysteries surrounding the show's presentation, though, such as how it will address the six-year time jump between Rick's disappearance and the rest of The Walking Dead. While this was going to be the focus for a trilogy of Rick Grimes movies, the films were canceled when Rick & Michonne was announced, implying Rick's missing time will somehow be shown to viewers while still maintaining a focus on both Rick and Michonne. Rick & Michonne begins filming in January of this year, indicating it may still be some time before audiences learn about the show's structure and storyline. Even so, with a possible title now attached to The Walking Dead spinoff series, it's likely more information about the show will be coming soon.
