The first month of the Summer 2012 Movie Season has passed, and with it goes a superhero blockbuster that tore up the box office (The Avengers), a couple of moderate money-raking hits (Dark Shadows, Men in Black III), and one financial flub (Battleship).

This past weekend, Snow White and the Huntsman kicked off what should be a pretty lucrative June, with Prometheus poised to continue Hollywood's cash run in the U.S., beginning this Friday. Later this month, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will also attempt to draw in the moviegoing massses. Lionsgate just hopes people are still in the mood to shell out cash for big-screen spectacle near the season's end, when The Expendables 2 arrives.

Today, we have new TV promos for all three of the aforementioned upcoming releases.

Early word of mouth indicates that Ridley Scott's Prometheus isn't quite the masterpiece we've been hoping for. However, the overall consensus from those who've seen the film (which premiered overseas this past weekend) pegs the Alien-related project as still being a pretty entertaining sci-fi yarn, full of beautiful 3D visuals and freaky extraterrestrial creatures/gore. (Look for Screen Rant's own critical ruling, later this week.)

We've rounded up the latest TV spots for Prometheus - including two short promos that mash together quick cuts of ominous footage with an instrumental version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Nursery rhymes just make everything seem creepier, don't they?

Prometheus opens in theaters around the U.S. on June 8th, 2012.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Between the recent third theatrical trailer and red-band promo, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has been painted as a film that combines the hyper-stylized action and visual style of director Timur Bekmambetov (Night Watch, Wanted) with a straight-faced biopic about the eponymous U.S. president's "secret life." That's also the case with the first two TV spots for the movie.

Will such a combination actually work? Suffice it say: we're all interested in learning the answer to that question.

The Expendables 2

Similar to the full-length Expendables 2 trailer and extended TV promo, the second TV spot focuses on the dream cast of manly stars who united for this sequel. Overall, the film looks to offer loads of well-executed action scenes, impressively-staged explosions, amusingly cheesy one-liners, and other fun nods to the fact that the Expendables cast is primarily composed of actors who are relics from a bygone age of testosterone-fueled, cinematic thrill rides.

In others words: Expendables 2 could turn out as exactly what the first Expendables promised to be (but fell short of being).

The Expendables 2 shoots up U.S. theaters on August 17th, 2012.
