Players can receive free Shiny Statues of Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. While many of what made Pokémon Diamond and Pearl so special make a return in this game, this remake also offers tons of new content as well. For example, the Grand Underground did exist in the original, but now features a handful of new changes in this version. The Grand Underground is a location where players can mine for materials and play around with friends. Once players unlock access to the Grand Underground, they can create their own Secret Bases. Depending on how the player decorates their Secret Base will influence changes in the Grand Underground.

When mining, players may come across special boxes that feature statues inside of them. There are tons of different statues of Pokémon available from all different creatures of all different generations. Players can then place these statues inside of their Secret Bases and it will influence the type of Pokémon that will appear within the dens in the Grand Underground. For example, if players place a Charmander statue, players will encounter more Fire-type Pokémon. Fortunately, players can be given Shiny Statues of the Sinnoh starters for free.

In order to collect the Shiny Statues of Chimchar, Piplup, and Turtwig, players will need to use Mystery Gift. This is a mechanic where the developers can provide players with special items from across the internet. In most Pokémon games, this will be unlocked from the beginning. In Pokémon BDSP, players will need to unlock the ability to receive Mystery Gifts from Jubilife City. Once unlocked the code BDSPUNDERG0UND and will instantly reward the player with all three statues.

Shiny Starter Statues in Pokémon BDSP

Shiny Statues are a bit different than the normal statues in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. While Shiny Statues still affect the type of Pokémon that appear, they are twice as effective as normal statues. Players will know they have a Shiny Statue when it has a sparkle near its name and is a dim green color. Players are able to place up to 18 statues within their Secret Base at once.

The main reason why players will want these Shiny Statues is that they can help change the game to make it easier to find a specific Pokémon. For example, players might want to search for a Shiny Water-type Pokémon. These statues make it so they encounter more Water-type Pokémon, thus increasing the chances of finding its Shiny form. There are tons of different Shiny Hunting methods in Pokémon BDSP and the Grand Underground is just one of many.
