Whether users are getting the Galaxy S23 as their first-ever smartphone or making the switch to Android, knowing how to turn it off is vital. Samsung released the Galaxy S23 on Feb. 1 during the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. The phone is packed with a variety of hardware and software features, some of the best smartphone cameras in the game, and beautiful displays. However, turning off the device may not be as intuitive as pressing a single button. Here is a quick explanation of all the ways users can power off their devices.

There are three ways to turn off the Galaxy S23: pressing a set of buttons, tapping the correct icon on the screen, or asking the device's voice assistant. The easiest method to turn off the Samsung Galaxy S23 is by simultaneously pressing the side and volume down buttons and selecting 'Power Off' from the pop-up menu on the screen. Tap 'Power Off' again to confirm the selection and shut the device down. To switch on the phone, press and hold the side button until the Samsung logo shows up on the screen. To restart the phone, press and hold the side and the volume down buttons and select 'Restart' from the menu that appears on the screen.

The second way to turn off a Galaxy S23 involves the Quick Settings menu. On the home screen, swipe down from the top of the screen with two fingers to directly open the Quick Settings panel. Then tap on the power button in the top right corner to open the pop-up Power menu. Select 'Power Off' and confirm the selection. The Power menu also contains an option to restart the phone.

Users can also ask Bixby, Samsung's voice assistant, to shut down their device. However, this method requires setting up Bixby on the Galaxy S23 first. Once the voice assistant is active, users can say, "Hey Bixby, turn off my phone," and Bixby will shut down their device for them. Last but not least, users turn off their Galaxy S23 by holding the side key. Head to Settings > Advanced features > Side key. Under 'Press and hold,' select 'Power off menu.' Now, holding the side key will option the Power menu, which contains the 'Power Off' and 'Restart' options.

The Galaxy S23 series comes in four colors – black, cream, lavender, and green. However, Samsung offers the Galaxy S23 Ultra in four exclusive colors on its website – sky blue, red, gray, and lime. The vanilla Galaxy S23 costs $799 for the 8GB/128GB version, while the Galaxy S23 Plus costs $999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. The Galaxy S23 Ultra, on the other hand, starts at a whopping $1,199.
