There was a time when vampires reigned supreme over television and entertainment. There was a frenzy of supernatural shows and films that garnered huge fanbases. With the success of Twilight, it opened up a brand new market based around vampires.

The hit CW show The Vampire Diaries had a rival show that could be considered it's alter ego. The HBO show True Blood was the raunchier and more adult-themed version that had many fans blushing red. Much like every show during its time, people became die-hard fans. Despite its success, not every episode of the show appealed to fans. Let's take a look at which episodes ranked the best and which ones fans weren't too happy about.

Good: Everything Is Broken (8.6)

In this episode, audiences discover what Sookie really is. As Eric must answer to the American Vampire League over the disappearance of the Magister, Sookie confronts Bill over the file he has on her family. Tara attends therapy in hopes to work through her trauma, but meets Holly. While all this occurs, Jason is having problems of his own and tries to find a way to save Crystal from her family.

Bill wake sup in a mystical realm and comes face to face with Claudine. Here he discovers what Sookie really is, but fans don't get to find out, as the episode ends in a cliffhanger.

Bad: Almost Home (7.1)

It's sad to say but a majority of the episodes in the lowest-rated list come from the show's final season.  The episode, "Almost Home" involves the cure to Hep-V. Eric, Pam and Mr.Gus have trapped Sarah in the basement of Fangtasia. Her blood has the cure fro Hep-V, and Eric is automatically cured. Meanwhile, Hoyt saves the gang from Violet as they were trying to save Jessica.

While the episode had its good marks, the storyline didn't satisfy as well as it hoped. When Eric tells Sookie he has the cure for Hep-V, she urges Bill to drink it. Surprisingly, Bill refuses to get cured.

Good: New World In My View (8.6)

Bon Temps is in complete disarray when Sookie and Bill return from their assignment. In season two, episode nine, Maryann has taken over the townspeople. Using her powers, she puts everyone under control and on the hunt for Sam.

When Bill returns to his home, he finds that Hoyt's mother has taken residence but is also under Maryann's compulsion. Hoyt's mother is driving Jessica up the wall and she doesn't know how long she can resist. Lafayette, along with Tara's mother, tries to break Maryann's hold on Tara's mind.

Bad: Love Is To Die (7.0)

Episode nine of season seven gets a 7.0 rating from IMDb as things get tense for the True Blood characters. Sookie and Jessica are devastated that Bill refuses to take the antidote that would save him. Jessica asks Bill to release her from his maker bond and goes to reconcile with Hoyt.

Sookie and Jessica also find out that Sam has left town with Nicole to live a new life away from all the chaos. Things get tense as the episode ends as the Yakanomo discover that Eric spilled the beans about the Hep-V cure to Sookie.

Good: You'll Be The Death Of Me (8.6)

Rising in rankings, episode twelve of the show's first season gets a high ranking and for good reason. The episode will have you gasping and clutching your heart with how fast it's beating. Sookie is close to finding the real killer of Bon Temps and claim Jason's innocence. Jason dismisses her and is visited by the Fellowship of the Sun.

Meanwhile, Tara is taken under Maryann's wing and meets Benedict "Eggs" Talley. Sookie is unable to start her car after her shift. It leads to help from the killer who was under their noses the entire time.

Bad: May Be The Last Time (6.9)

The episode, "May Be the Last Time" has good story elements, but gets a lower rating according to IMDb. Eric and Pam agree to help the Yakanomo, and Mr. Gus captures Jessica in order for her to answer for her crimes. Eric secretly has plans of his own.

Sookie turns to magic from Niall Brigant to cure Bill. Niall admits that Sookie should prepare for his death. On the other end of things, Sam is given an ultimatum. He must decide between Bon Temps or Nicole, who doesn't want to raise her child in a dangerous place.

Good: I Will Rise Up (8.8)

In the explosive aftermath of the episode, "Timebomb", Eric is severely wounded after using his body to shield Sookie from the blast. He urges her to drink from him to heal him. In reality, it was ruse in order for Sookie to bond with him through blood. Meanwhile, Tara and Eggs wake up with bruises from a blackout.

Hoyt introduces Jessica to his mothers who refuses their relationship because she's a vampire. Godric steps down from his position and wants to make amends. In reality, he wishes to die, and Eric becomes distraught over his creator.

Bad: I Found You (6.9)

Episode two of season seven starts with Jason having a sexy dream about Eric. It shifts to Lettie Mae burning herself to reach the brink of death in order to talk to Tara's ghost. As this all occurs, Sookie, Andy, Alcide, Jason, and Sam visit the town of Saint Alice, only to find a ghost town.

The people of Bon Temps have no mayor or sheriff, and form a group to hunt supernatural beings. By the end, Pam finds Eric's location, but their reunion isn't joyful. Eric has been infected with Hep-V.

Good: Timebomb (8.9)

The episode, "Timebomb" takes the number one spot as the best ranked True Blood episode, according to IMDb. There is a reason, the storyline involves Eric and Sookie trapped within the compound of the Fellowship. Bill manages to escape Lorena's hold to aid Sookie. As the Fellowship is swarmed by Stan and the Dallas vampires, Godric puts an end to the conflict.

Back in Bon Temps, Tara and Eggs are fed a human heart that leads to a violet sexual frenzy, and Sam is arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Back at the vampire nest, Godric has changed his ways and banishes Lorena. Then, a member of the Fellowship arrives with a silver bomb strapped to his chest.

Bad: Thank You (5.1)

It's a bad sign when the series finale of True Blood has the lowest ranking out of seven seasons. While the episode ties some loose strings and finishes the story arc for some characters, fans weren't too pleased. Bill refuses Sookie's pleas to save himself and urges her to accept his desire for death. She is angered by his request to use her Fae powers to kill him in order to become human.

Bill gives away Jessica's hand in marriage to Hoyt, and will live on his land for $1 rent. Sookie makes the heart-wrenching decision to stake Bill and lay him in his grave from the Civil War. Years later, everyone has moved on. Sookie is married expecting a child, and Jason is as well with children of his own. They gather with other acquaintances to have a Thanksgiving meal.
