Tron Legacy Banner Collection

With San Diego Comic-Con a mere few days away, Disney is attempting the make their upcoming Tron Legacy the next "big thing." From the viral marketing campaign, the unprecedented third Comic-Con appearance for the film, signage on street lights all over San Diego to another recreation of Flynn's Arcade, Disney is doing it all to ensure that Tron Legacy has a chance at becoming this year's Avatar.

This week Disney has also released some new additions to the growing series of Tron Legacy billboard banners (seven so far) that depict the characters and vehicles of the film, emphasizing the slick and cool the visuals and unique aesthetic of the Tron world.

For those unfamiliar with the plot of the Tron sequel, coming out 28 years after the original cult favorite, here's the official plot synopsis:

Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), a rebellious 27-year-old, is haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), a man once known as the world’s leading video-game developer. When Sam investigates a strange signal sent from the old Flynn’s Arcade—a signal that could only come from his father—he finds himself pulled into a digital world where Kevin has been trapped for 20 years. With the help of the fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-or-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe—a universe created by Kevin himself that has become far more advanced with never-before-imagined vehicles, weapons, landscapes and a ruthless villain who will stop at nothing to prevent their escape.

The latest banner to debut depicts Olivia Wilde's character, Quorra, ready to battle with a light-disc. Before we get to that, here are all seven Tron Legacy banners in order of release:

I want one of these costumes for Halloween and I'll take a few of them light cycles too. If you have the money and the interest, you can actually own your own Tron light cycle if you have $35,000 but remember to get one for me, please.

Tron Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and stars Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Bruce Boxleitner, Michael Sheen, Olivia Wilde, James Frain and Yaya DaCosta.

Screen Rant will be reporting live from all of the Tron Legacy events at Comic-Con next week - or “ComiTRON” as Disney deems it - so stay tuned and follow us on Twitter @rob_keyes and @screenrant.

Tron Legacy opens in regular, 3D, and IMAX 3D theaters on December 17th, 2010.
