A recently revealed casting call may reveal that Trigon is coming to DC's live-action Titans TV series. The show first entered development in 2014, back when it was still attached to the TNT network. About a year and a half later, TNT ended up dropping the project before DC Comics announced that it was being revived as a flagship program of their digital service, which is set to launch sometime in 2018. It's been a rocky road, but the Teen Titans are finally coming to life in live-action!

As the series' 2018 premiere date looms, we're starting to get a clearer picture of what Titans will look like. In the last month alone, we've gotten our first look at Brenton Thwaites' spot-on Robin, as well as Hawk (Alan Ritchson) and Dove (Minka Kelly). We're still waiting to see what Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven will look like, but a new report suggests that the latter will be getting an unexpected familial connection in the series.

In the comics, Raven is the daughter of a human mother and a straight-up demon, the insanely powerful Trigon. While the villain is an integral part of Raven's backstory, few expected that he'd be making an appearance in Titans. At least not right out of the gate, anyway. But if this report from Titans Podcast is accurate, the fire demon may well make his debut in season one. Check out the character description in question below and see if you think it matches up with Trigon.

[EVAN LOGUE]: Male, Late 30s-40s, Caucasian. Charismatic. A cult leader attempting to reunite his family. Central role for series finale. RECURRING GUEST STAR. Please submit star/cameo names. Casting early for wardrobe but the role works Ep. 111 (04/09-04/19) and Ep. 112 (04/19 – 05/01)

Raven and Trigon

Previous casting call breakdowns have already provided a ton of insight into the series, hinting at appearances from big names like Donna Troy and Roy Harper. One of those breakdowns strongly implied that Raven's biological mother would be making a guest spot, so in that sense, an appearance from dear old dad makes sense.

Then again, Trigon is an enormous fire demon that could seemingly only be realized with some super expensive CGI. (Just how gigantic is this show's budget, anyway?) Trigon is capable of taking on a human form for the purposes of deception, but given that the description above seemingly sets him up as the big bad for the last two episodes, it'd be pretty disappointing to see the Titans coming together for a final showdown against a supervillain whose physical appearance has been nerfed for budgetary reasons. We saw plenty of that back in Smallville.
