The teaser trailer is here for season 4 of the award winning and critically acclaimed original comedy series Transparent. Starring Jeffrey Tambor as Maura Pfefferman - an elder transgender woman who is forced to come to terms with her own identity and those of her immediate family, relatively late in her life - the show was created by Jill Soloway (I Love Dick) for Amazon Studios back in 2014, and since then has taken on a life of its own thanks to the widespread good will generated by its viewers.

Standing as the winner of eight Emmys, two Golden Globes, and three Critics' Choice Awards, Transparent has retained its status going on four years now as one of the most popular shows offered exclusively to Amazon Prime subscribers. And with its all-star cast returning for season 4 - most notably including Judith Light as Shelly Pfefferman, Amy Landecker as Sarah Pfefferman, Jay Duplass as Josh Pfefferman, and Gaby Hoffman as Ali Pfefferman - the latest trailer paints another off-beat picture of all the shenanigans and misadventures soon to come.

In the footage featured above, potential viewers can get their first look at everything season 4 of Transparent will have to offer, with a decided focus on the immediate nuclear members of the Pfefferman clan. Following three seasons from Amazon Studios and chief creative director and showrunner Soloway thus far, things are sure to get even more interesting for longtime viewers of the series, in the near future.

Jeffrey Tambor in Transparent

After spending the majority of season 3 in various states of narrative ambiguity and dramatic indecision, season 4 of Transparent will hopefully find a way to bring the drama and compelling star performance from Tambor back into focus. The Pfefferman clan has never been an especially easy group of people to love, but in Soloway's hands their social inconsistencies and personal transgressions have proven to be par for the course, in understanding and appreciating the entire point of Transparent.

Heralded for its daring representation of the transgender experience in 21st century America, Transparent will likely continue to draw a crowd with the release of season 4 in due time. Whether or not the Amazon Studios original comedy series will continue to pick up steam and evolve as the show continues remains to be seen, but here's to hoping for the very best from Soloway and company until then.
