An all-new death-defying action-packed adventure is gearing up to hit the shelves this fall as IDW has announced the Transformers: Wreckers series. Since the mid-'80s, Transformers has captivated audiences on a number of mediums from television series and big-screen blockbusters to a groundbreaking action figure line and of course comics. Now, the latest Transformers story will be included in the longstanding dynasty promising adrenaline-pumping excitement and great entertainment for all fans of the robots in disguise.

Transformers: Wreckers-- Tread and Circuits #1 by David Mariotte with art by Jack Lawrence and Candace Han is an all-new miniseries set on a planet far away from Cybertron and its ongoing war. While they’re not outwardly doing battle with Decepticons for the soul of the universe, the Wreckers are upholding justice on far off worlds with a different approach. The Wreckers are a fearless team of daredevils who broadcast amazing stunts all while being secretly undercover for covert operations.

Plot points released by IDW revealed Transformers: Wreckers-- Tread and Circuits #1 will follow the Wreckers as they try to maintain peaceful order on a planet on the verge of utter chaos. In the first issue, fans will learn that the Speedia 500, a literal race for worldwide governmental control, is being threatened. Being the galactically famous extreme streamers that they are, the Wreckers enter the race under the guise of entertainment, broadcasting the entire event for their fans while working to uncover the mystery of who would try to destroy this world’s governmental procedures without getting caught.

This fun and unique addition to the Transformers lore comes from a creative team consisting of members who have each proven in previous Transformers-related content that they have creativity to spare. The writer behind the new book also helmed the widely popular and daring Transformers vs The Terminator miniseries that was certainly a blast from the past. Gleaming with just as much is not more ‘80s nostalgia was the Transformers/Back to the Future miniseries with which Candace Han was integrally involved. The look and visual style of the Wreckers will be brought to the page by Jack Lawrence who was also responsible for the visually stunning Transformers: Lost Light

Transformers: Wreckers-- Tread and Circuits will be a four-issue miniseries deliberately bringing a different take to Transformers characters. “[A] team of Autobots willing to do what other Autobots wouldn’t, and look cool as heck while doing it,” said Mariotte in the release by IDW. This Autobot special missions team won’t go near the ongoing Cybertronian war but will nevertheless experience intense action and intrigue with provenly excellent writing and familiarly stunning illustration and color to tie the story together. Transformers: Wreckers-- Tread and Circuits #1 will be available this October.
