Transformers is returning to the big screen for a limited time to celebrate its fifteen-year anniversary. The release of Transformers back in 2007 was a highly anticipated event, and the film set the record for the biggest single-day gross on the 4th of July holiday with $29 million, a record the film still holds to this day. Transformers went on to gross $709 million worldwide and was the fifth highest-grossing film in 2007 at the worldwide box office.

Now a generation who was too young to experience Transformers on the big screen when it first came out will get a chance to while older audiences can experience the film all over again. Fathom Events will be holding special screenings of Transformers to celebrate the film's fifteen-year anniversary. Transformers will be returning for two days only, on July 10 and July 14, in select theaters across the country.

Transformers launched a hugely successful film franchise. Drector Michael Bay returned to helm four sequels with 2009's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, 2011's Transformers: Dark of the Moon, 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction, and 2017's Transformers: The Last Knight. The franchise got a soft reboot with 2018's Bumblebee, which broke convention and opened in December as opposed to the franchise's traditional summer release date. 2023 will see the release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and promotional material featuring Bumblebee and Optimus Primal has already made its way online. Paramount Pictures could very well release a teaser trailer to coincide with Transformers' fifteen-year anniversary.
