The logo for Bumblebee has popped up online, teasing next year's Transformers spinoff about the lovable Autobot. For the past ten years, the Transformers movies have taken up most of Michael Bay's time, with the fifth arriving next month. Not only will the film potentially mark the director's last turn helming the franchise - a claim we've heard before, of course - but it will open up new avenues for the franchise. Despite the popularity of the movies, they've yet to spread out beyond a loose central narrative. The Last Knight, however, will change that in some big ways.

Firstly, it will explore the past of the Cybertronians, allowing for new stories to be told. It will also help kick off a series of proposed spinoffs, letting new directors take the lead and allowing side stories to be explored. While most of these plans are still locked in the Transformers writing room, Bumblebee will become a reality next summer. The film will be directed by Travis Knight, flying high off of the success of Kubo and the Two Strings, and will test the cinematic waters of the Transformers franchise. With the movie not far off, teasers and images will soon be on their way, and our first look at the film may have already arrived.

Transformer World 2005 have uncovered a new patent application for the Transformers property, and it looks to be a logo for the Bumblebee movie. You can check it out at the link below.

While things could change - or the report could prove to be false - TW2005 are a reliable source and it's not hard to see why this might be the real deal. It looks as if the designers went with a fairly straightforward design for the film, though with a slightly mechanized edge. There's also a bit more of a cartoony style to the image than previously, possibly hinting at the tone of the film.

From the beginning, the marketing for The Last Knight has teased a battle between Bee and Optimus. There's even a rumor that Optimus will rebuild himself with the destroyed Bumblebee. As such, there's no telling where things will end up with the lovable character, in turn making knowing the real direction of the solo film hard.

Whether this logo proves to be official or not, we should know soon. The movie is only 13 months away and set to start shooting in July, so casting, and more details should be just around the corner. There's even a chance a teaser will be attached to The Last Knight when it hits theaters. If not, Comic-Con will likely bring more news for Bumblebee and an idea of what to expect next year.
