Toys for Transformers: The Last Knight put the spotlight on new characters like Cogman, Hot Rod and Skullitron. After a three-year break, the Transformers franchise returns this summer with their fifth film in the series, Transformers: The Last Knight. Michael Bay is back as director for the last time with Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci reprising their roles from 2014's Transformers: Age of Extinction, alongside Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, and John Turturro from the first three movies.

The Last Knight is planned to be a huge summer movie event that will close out Bay's part in the franchise. For the final chapter, Paramount recruited 12 popular film writers to expand the Transformers mythology and tie each movie in the series together in a whole new way. The result will be a film that not only wraps up everything that came before, but sets up the next leg of the franchise. In The Last Knight, Optimus Prime (who was last seen flying away into space with the Seed) is gone, and a war has begun between humans and the Transformers. The key to saving our future lies in the secret history of Transformers on Earth.

Toys have always been a big part of the franchise, seeing how they went hand in hand with the franchise's debut and the release of the hugely popular cartoon series in 1984. The Last Knight will be taking Transformers back to its roots and revealing new characters and new toys. EW has the scoop with spotlights on toys for new characters like Cogman, Hot Rod and Skullitron:

First up is Cogman. He's a human-sized robot that serves as a butler and bounty hunter for Anthony Hopkins' Sir Edmund Burton, an astronomer and historian who knows about the history of the Transformers on Earth dating back to medieval times and the era of King Arthur. Cogman is also a Headmaster from Transformers lore, which means he can take over another robot's sentience. Cogman’s vehicle mode is an Aston Martin.

Next is Hot Rod, also an ally of Sir Burton and an update to the robot of the same name from the 1986 animated Transformers movie. He’s the covert protector of Viviane Wembly (Laura Haddock), a professor of English Literature at the University of Oxford who is the key to saving the world. Hot Rod has an important role in the movie as well, and he'll be very classy and charming with a European accent. His vehicle mode is a Lamborghini Centenario.

Last is Skullitron, who hasn't been seen clearly yet in trailers and stills from the film. Skullitron is a villainous character, and he’s a knight whose presence on earth dates back more than a thousand years. Unlike the previous two new characters, Skullitron doesn’t change into vehicle mode but into a mechanical beast. It appears that the idea of dragons in the middle ages must have come from somewhere.

Also included in the spread are toy versions of Megatron, a character well known to fans of the Transformers property. All of the toys above will retail for $19.99, and you'll want to collect them all. Don't miss out too on toys for Beserker, Nitro, Bumblebee, Ravenspar and more.
