These scenes from the Toy Story franchise may have completely changed the movies, if they weren't deleted. Pixar has made some of the most beloved animated films of the last two decades, and while they've continued to mix in original ideas, franchises have become an equally large part of their plan. Throughout them all, it's the Toy Story trilogy that 's easily the best of the bunch, and may just hold some of the best animated movies of all time.

There have been three Toy Story movies to date - with Toy Story 4 just a few months away from hitting theaters - and they've all followed (largely) the same group of characters. Woody and Buzz Lightyear make up the unlikely lead friends, but the franchise is filled with memorable characters from Rex to Mr. Potato Head. The gang's wild adventures have entertained audiences since 1995, and given the long production cycle for animated movies, the films had plenty of time to evolve over the years

In the latest Screen Rant video, we take a look at 20 deleted scenes from across the Toy Story franchise that could've completely changed the franchise if they weren't scrapped. There's options from all three movies, including some alternate takes on pivotal scenes. For instance, it was nearly Rex's fault that Woody fell into a box for the yard sale, which could've strained the relationship between them in the future. Even though some of these deleted scenes sound like fun different takes or additions to the films, the generations of people who love the franchise just goes to show that the right decisions were made along the way. Not only are the toys incredibly popular to this day and the characters iconic, but Toy Story 3 earned over $1 billion at the box office, proving that there's still definitely life in the franchise.

The success of Toy Story 3, which also won two Academy Awards, is partially why Pixar moved forward on Toy Story 4. After the perfect ending that Toy Story 3 appeared to have for the franchise though, there's been concern over what the upcoming film can offer. The trailers have shown the basis of the story, so it'll be interesting to see how much more Pixar and Disney show to generate more excitement in their big summer release. But, with Toy Story 4 adding to the legacy of the franchise, it also means that additional deleted scenes from the Toy Story series will be revealed later on.
