The Toy Story franchise is pretty much complete for now, although future sequels can never be ruled out. The brand is one of the best animated film series that has ever been produced and catapulted PIXAR into the industry.

While the original film and its sequels are some of the most heartwarming projects Disney has distributed, it all comes down to the relationship between a kid and his toys. But what about one of the most franchise's iconic locations? Here are ten things you never noticed about Andy's room.

PEN PAL

Mr. Fredricksen alone at his home in Up

Believe it or not, there's a huge reference to another one of PIXAR's famous characters in the third film of the series, which helps those who are still trying to prove that all of PIXAR's films are actually in one huge, interconnected universe.

Andy's pen pal is displayed on his wall, with a postcard addressed to them detailing exactly who the young man has been talking to. It appears he has been writing to Carl and Ellie, from UpPerhaps he's kept it to remember the late Ellie by.

NEWT CROSSING

Almost every film that PIXAR goes into production on actually gets made. It's very rare that a film that is in the works gets stuck at the story stage. That is exactly what happened to a PIXAR project by the name of Newt.

Not much is known about this abandoned film, however the producers clearly had high hopes for it. There's a yellow sticker on the edge of Andy's door that reads 'Newt Xing,' a clear easter egg to the movie that we'll never see.

MICKEY MOUSE CLOCK

This is a reference to the first film in the franchise, and it seems PIXAR wanted to honor their partnership with Disney by including their iconic mascot and most famous character in their films. They have done so with some Mickey merchandise.

The animators needed to make Andy's room feel more believable, and so of course he would have a branded clock. The clock is in the style of a wristwatch and has a classic Mickey Mouse positioned in the middle of it, where his hands tell the time.

LUXO LAMP

The Luxo Lamp and Luxo Jr have become synonymous with the PIXAR brand. It's now featured as part of their logo at the start of every feature and short film that the company produces and is actually a character from their first animated short.

One of these lamps can usually be seen throughout Toy Story 3, although the animators try to disguise it. In the movie, there is a Luxo Lamp on Andy's desk, albeit a red one, rather than the metallic silver that fans are used to.

CARS POSTER

Andy clearly loves cars, having had a few different vehicle toys and various memorabilia across his room. This allowed animators the opportunity to include references to their own movie franchise based on automobiles.

There is a sleek car featured in a poster on Andy's wall that looks surprisingly similar to the British spy car, Finn McMissile. The character is featured in Cars 2 and is famously voiced by Sir Michael Caine. It's a fun nod to the ongoing series.

MAP

No PIXAR movie is complete without some kind of reference to their own history. The A113 easter egg is often included throughout their films in order to look back at where the success started; in an industry-altering classroom known as A113.

However, a map in Andy's room has a number of pins to showcase other parts of their history. The pins show important locations and also have the hometowns of the key production team highlighted.

CALENDAR

We're heading back to the world of Cars now, as Andy's room continues to indicate that he loves driving and his slightly obsessed with vehicles. The latest Cars reference comes as a courtesy of Andy's calendar.

Originally the calendar had a picture from A Bug's Lifehowever now it features the character Snot Rod, a racing car from the PIXAR franchise. The PIXAR team was clearly very proud of this fast-paced project and wanted to include it anywhere they could.

NEMO STICKER

PIXAR loves making pop culture references to films they are inspired by, but they also adore to reference their own movies. One of the films they are especially proud of is Finding Nemothe tale of a father and son separated by miles of ocean.

The film has been honored in Andy's bedroom with a little sticker. It may be a blink and you'll miss it moment, but a tiny sticker of the clownfish Nemo, can be located on a chest in his room. The bright orange color really makes this stand out.

PIXAR UNIVERSITY BANNER

We've previously spoken about how the company loves to showcase its legacy and its history. No institution is perhaps better showcased to demonstrate how far PIXAR has come than their own university, which is training new film making talent.

Pixar University, or PU, has been vital to the ongoing success of the company. A university banner with the initials PU can be seen on Andy's wall; he's clearly a fan of the institution, although we don't think that's where he is studying.

EMERYVILLE

Where Andy is actually applying to university isn't that far away however. A major part of the third film is the fact that Andy must leave for college, leaving behind his toys once and for all. But where exactly is he going?

One of the application letters on his wall actually has an address on it, which gives us an idea of the location he's set for. The address shows us that he's heading to Emeryville, to an area that's really close to the PIXAR headquarters!
