Pixar celebrates Toy Story's 25th anniversary with a new simplified movie poster. Toy Story was released back on November 22, 1995 by director John Lasseter. The first Toy Story was a huge milestone for Pixar, and animated movies in general, since it was the first feature-length film to be completely computer-animated. The film introduced audiences to now-iconic Disney/Pixar characters, including Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Bo Peep, and many others.

With Toy Story becoming one of the highest-grossing films of 1995, a sequel was quickly developed and came out four years later in 1999. Toy Story 2 may not have been as critically acclaimed as the original, but it provided a fresh, emotional story while introducing new and memorable characters like Jesse, Bullseye, Prospector, and Weezy. The studio took a long time developing Toy Story 3, with the movie coming out over a decade after its predecessor and supposedly ending the franchise last year with Toy Story 4While Toy Story has given families four heart-warming animated adventures over the last 25 years, the original Toy Story is often considered the best of the franchise.

With Toy Story turning 25 today, Pixar decided to celebrate by giving their film a new poster. The simplified poster includes the main toys in the franchise as well as some of the more minor characters in the first movie. Pixar's original tweet can be seen below:

It doesn't look like Toy Story 5 will happen anytime soon, if ever, but there is plenty of Toy Story content people can enjoy to celebrate the film's 25th anniversary. All four Toy Story films are available to stream on Disney+ as well as four Toy Story shorts and the series Forky Asks a Question. It's certainly possible that Pixar could release new merchandise to celebrate the film's anniversary as well. Disney could even hold special events at Toy Story Land in Florida to try to increase attendance, as COVID-19 is still affecting their resorts and theme parks.

Toy Story is one of Pixar's most popular franchises and profitable pieces of IP, so today is certainly a special day for the company. Many fans will feel old that this film is turning 25 since many watched Toy Story as a child and might even be introducing the film to their children. Toy Story taught many viewers the value of friendship, with Buzz and Woody remaining one of cinema's most iconic duos even to this day. Toy Story has always been a crucial movie in Pixar's history and won't ever be forgotten.
