The recently released sci-fi RPG Tower of Fantasy is giving out free gifts following a frustrating bugged event. Developed by Hotta Studio, the free-to-play open-world action game lets players explore the futuristic planet of Aida and recruit a lineup of colorful companion characters. Since launch payers have come to consider Tower of Fantasy a Genshin Impact rival, with both open-world RPGs utilizing anime-inspired designed and gacha monetization systems.Tower of Fantasy is a free-to-play game, allowing anyone to pick up the title and step into the extraterrestrial world of Aida. However, players are unable to access large parts of the sci-fi RPGs content without engaing with the title's gacha monetization system. Like Genshin Impact, players in Tower of Fantasy can use resources to purchase a "roll" which has a random chance of gifting an item. Nuclei serves as the currency in Hotta Studio's futuristic title, and players can earn Nuclei by either paying real money or completing in-game missions. The ease of acquiring Nuclei in-game makes the Tower of Fantasy gacha system more forgiving than the one in Genshin Impact, though many are still critical of the game's gambling component.Related: Tower of Fantasy Preview: A Shared Sci-Fi World With Anime StyleAs reported by Rock Paper Shotgun, the Tower of Fantasy development team has announced a compensation plan following the bugged Rebirth of Clemency event. Technical issues prevented many players from participating in the Nemesis-themed event, which allowed users to obtain weapons and items related to the playable hero. These bugs have apparently been fixed, but as compensation for the trouble Hotta Studio is giving out free items to all Tower of Fantasy players. 500 Dark Crystal will be given to all users, and those who had Flame Golds or Overclocking Chips inadvertently converted into Black Golds or Base Chips will receive an additional 300 Dark Crystal.

Tower of Fantasy Makes Up For Bugged Nemesis Event

There are multiple Tower of Fantasy playable characters for players to choose from, and they all have distinct powers and abilities. Much like in Genshin Impact each character wields a unique weapon and elemental type, and the cast is also sorted into two tiers of rarity. The playable character Nemesis, for example, is a Volt Type warrior who wields the powerful ranged weapon Venus. The Simulacrum Nemesis also sits at the SSR rank, making her one of the rarer characters that Tower of Fantasy currently has to offer.

While unexpected bugs sadly ruined the Rebirth of Clemency event for many Tower of Fantasy players, Hotta Studio has made an honest attempt to reconcile with angry fans. Giving away large quantities of Dark Crystal should help make up for the technical issues and create goodwill between the game and its fanbase. However, continued technical issues popping up in Tower of Fantasy risks driving away the new game's growing playerbase.
