Even with a modest start, Tower of Fantasy looks like a strong competitor for Genshin Impact.

Now, humans need to wear suppressors to survive the environment. Naturally, factions have formed and fight each other for power while aberrants roam freely. The anime art style and open world map make Tower of Fantasy into a Genshin Impact rival with strengths of its own to set it apart.
Tower of Fantasy has some elements that make it different, some of which Genshin Impact would benefit from having. In particular, the customization options for Tower of Fantasy already beat those of Genshin Impact, even though the game hasn't been available outside of China for long. It might be the current ruler of the gacha adventure genre, but Genshin Impact is lacking when it comes to customization.

Not only is Tower of Fantasy launching with 15 playable characters, but players can also customize the appearance of their character, such as changing their hair and face, a feature absent from Genshin Impact. Players who might not know what they want their character to look like can even import the appearance of characters that other players have created. In addition, before beginning the game isn't the only time that players can change their appearance. Tower of Fantasy has Simulacra that players can obtain to customize their character after they've started the game. With more weapons to choose from and outfits to try on, Tower of Fantasy already offers far more character customization options than Genshin Impact.
Gacha games make heavy use of RNG, so players would benefit from knowing how to reroll in Tower of Fantasy in case they don't get what they wanted.
