The women of the WWE are back and looking to make historic moves within the Women’s Division. Taking a page from Eleanor Roosevelt, Ronda Rousey’s aim is to “make history and not behave.” Her one goal is to bring awareness for the all-women’s pay per view event called Evolution which aired back in October of 2018 and was the first pay per view match to consist of only women. As one of the best rookies to ever grace the WWE ring, the UFC fighter would like to open doors for other women to follow in her footsteps. E! shared a sneak peek of the new season, which picks up after the groundbreaking achievement of last year. Veteran Niedhart said that all of the women have given their “blood, sweat, and tears” to make it to WrestleMania 35. In the last season of Total Divas, the show followed the decision behind WWE to make a women’s match the main event.

This season will showcase Rousey's private life as she tries to decide if she wants to try out motherhood. The other women who will be joining season 9 are Carmella, who made her WWE debut by managing Enzo Amore and Big Cass, and Sonya Deville, who originally started her wrestling career on WWE’s Tough Enough. Deville will also be the first openly gay woman in the WWE and will be debuting her girlfriend, Ariana. As for Carmella, her storyline will show her trials and tribulations with boyfriend Corey Graves, in which she was accused of being a home-wrecker and breaking up his marriage.

Last season, fans watched as Nattie’s beloved father Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart passed away, and her storyline will follow her family as they deal with the aftermath from season 8. Nia Jax and Nikki Bella also will return to the show with some unsettled drama between the two. In the sneak peek, Nia was told that her ACL may be inured, costing her time in the ring.

Even though the reality show has plenty of drama, all of the women agree that no matter what happens, they will always support one another, as Total Divas is a sisterhood, and the new faces added to the roster are sure to bring positivity and excitement for this jam-packed season. This particular season will break down stereotypes and boundaries for women’s wrestling, paving the way for some pretty exciting episodes.
