It's no surprise that the show Lucifer became a grand hit with audiences when it premiered in 2015. It was a shock when it was announced that FOX wouldn't be renewing the show for a fourth season. Fans were outraged and petitioned for it to be brought back and the favorite characters to remain on-screen.

Netflix answered fans' pleas and took the show under their wing a month after FOX announced its cancellation. The show's new installments were a smash hit amongst its die-hard and new fans. The show follows the epic and journey of Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) as he becomes bored with his role in Hell. He spices things up by opening a night club in Los Angeles and his fate becomes intertwined with a female detective. Lucifer mixes the celestial with the drama of love and murder mystery, so it's no wonder the show's episodes have such high ratings on IMDb.

Especially since there's going to be a new character in play that will rock the lives of the main characters. The show has done a good job so far in catching audiences' attention with drama-filled episodes and the whirlwind lives and emotions of everyone involved. 

Let's take a look back at some of the show's highest-ranked episodes. Epsidoes that did the job of enthralling fans as well as creating riveting storylines that had fans itching for more.

Take Me Back To Hell (9.2)

The Devil is framed for murder and he's actually innocent. Lucifer is being framed for the murder. A man who abhors the devil and believes Lucifer to actually be who he says is found heinously murdered.

The evidence at the crime scene all points towards Lucifer as a suspect. Chloe must bring him in but now must work together to find the real culprit who is killing in Lucifer's name.

Our Mojo (9.2)

It finally happened. The one thing fans were waiting so long for. Lucifer and Chloe (Lauren German) have confessed their feelings to one another and are giving each other a chance at a relationship. But all good things come at a price. It seems as though the Devil has lost his mojo. Lucifer becomes perplexed that he can no longer get people to confess their desires.

Instead, it seems as Chloe has his powers. On top of that, they must deal with a vile murderer who leaves white flowers with his victims. Meanwhile, Dan (Kevin Alejandro) struggles to cope with the reality that was kept hidden from him.

The Good, The Bad And The Crispy (9.2)

"The, Good, The Bad and The Crispy" was a bit of an emotional episode for Lucifer. Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) is only causing more havoc as her powers can't be controlled. She even ends up hurting Linda (Rachael Harris). Lucifer sees no other solution but one.

He tracks down his mother and uses the flaming sword. Instead of killing her, he gives her a way out. She can be on her own in her own dimension and live freely away from the pressure of her husband (God).

Orgy Pants To Work (9.2)

Fans get a fun treat when Lucifer doesn't realize he's wearing his orgy pants to work, hence his derriere showing. Audiences see more later on. To get to the serious aspect, Chloe and Lucifer are looking for a connection between a murdered auditor and a nudist colony.

Meanwhile, Amenadiel is visited by one of his siblings who stresses the importance of his mission. In this episode, fans see that Lucifer isn't okay. Linda sees that he has actually come undone with Eve (Inbar Levi). All the while, Eve is upset that Lucifer is off working, leaving her alone.

Off The Record (9.3)

"Off the Record" takes place in season three of the show. This episode was mind-boggling due to the main "villains." To start Lucifer's sexual escapades come back to bite him in the rear. A well-known reporter finds out his wife has cheated on him with a patient, that wife being Linda.

He soon starts to go mad trying to uncover Lucifer's lies and blames him for his crumbling marriage. On the other end, there's a serial killer who is back and wreaking havoc. But the reason for the killer's return ties back to the reporter.

O, Ye Of Little Faith, Father (9.3)

Season four got a little crazy and had fans on their toes with the storyline. A majority of the IMDB's top ten episodes are from season four, and for good reason. The episode, "O, Ye of Little Faith, Father", took fans on a whirlwind.

Lucifer comes to find some shocking news about Chloe once he encounters a Vatican priest by the name of Father Kinley. While Lucifer's trust in Chloe becomes tested, the team investigates the murder of a mob boss.

All About Eve (9.3)

It's not hard to believe that the top ten episodes, according to IMDb, have such high ranking, to begin with. Episode four, season four, "All About Eve" brings a new character into play. If Lucifer wasn't having enough problems as it is, the arrival of a certain old flame at Lux complicates things even more.

If you are aware of any biblical stories you could easily guess who Lucifer's former love used to be long ago. Lucifer is brought back to crime-solving as he tries to finds a missing diamond necklace all while trying to avoiding Chloe.

Expire Erect (9.3)

The episode "Expire Erect" in season four follows the episode, "All About Eve." The episode plays a tug of war with audiences' emotions. Lucifer agrees to help Chloe with one final case, hoping to part ways. They investigate the case of a vintage car collector that becomes complicated.

Chloe and Ella (Aimee Garcia) come to meet Lucifer's old flame at his nightclub, Lux. Things go wrong as their lives are threatened and must find a way out. Lucifer comes to realize he can't stop being Chloe's partner, but acknowledges his relationship with his old flame.

Super Bad Boyfriend (9.3)

"Super Bad Boyfriend" is episode eight in season four and sets in motion a dilemma that could bring danger to the group and the humans on Earth. Chloe reveals the details of a prophecy that would bring about evil on Earth if not stopped.

Lucifer believes he has the solution and plays the role of a bad boyfriend to incite a breakup with his now girlfriend. At the same time, the team investigates the murder of a teacher. Everyone comes to the realization that decisions have to be made for the greater good.

Devil Is A Devil Does (9.4)

Episode seven of season four is a lot to handle but projects the Lucifer storyline even further. In the episode, Lucifer is not himself and who Chloe has come to have feelings for. While investigating the case of Sam Zofrelli, Lucifer becomes unhinged and lets his anger take over.

Realizing that Chloe is the only one who can keep Lucifer at bay, he wants to regain her trust. It becomes too late as Lucifer and his first love's relationship has already affected Lucifer, especially his wings.

A Good Day To Die (9.5)

Taking a reroute to season two, the episode, "A Good Day To Die" had fans holding their breath over the future of Chloe. The episode is the continuation of "Love Handles" where the team investigates a killer who forces individuals to make grave decisions to test his theory.

In the follow-up, Chloe is on the brink of death and only Lucifer can save her. He is willing to return to Hell to find the answer but gets trapped in his own torturous Hell full of guilt. The events take a toll on Lucifer and he makes a hasty decision.

Quintessential Deckerstar (9.5)

The IMDb list is getting shorts, but the episode ranking are only getting higher. In season three, the episode "Quintessential Decker" had fans in tears by the end result. Lucifer struggles to admit his feelings to Chloe, while Charlotte has recurring dreams of her time in Hell.

The team investigates the murder of the wife of a retired baseball player, Forest Clay. Charlotte assists in the investigation alongside Amenadiel. All the while, Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Pierce (Tom Welling) devise a plan to get Pierce's mark back. Things go wrong and cause unexpected death.

Spoiler Alert (9.5)

The last episode of the first half of the fifth season left fans at the edge of their seats in anticipation. It might be due to the fact that a certain big celestial player finally makes his grand appearance. The storyline continues from the previous episode as Chloe comes to the realization that they might have not caught their killer.

Save Lucifer (9.6)

"Save Lucifer" in season four brings about a lot of loose ends and new beginnings. The episode's storyline revolves around the murder of a realtor sister. While the investigation takes place, Lucifer is changing and he can't stop it. Chloe helps him realize the truth in order for him to return to normal.

While this occurs, a new bundle of joy enters the world while an evil one arrives. Eve unknowingly brings about the beginning of the prophecy they were hoping to stop.

Who's Da New King Of Hell (9.7)

"Who's da New King of Hell", is the final episode of season four and it left fans on a cliffhanger and with high anticipation for season five. While Lucifer is back to his good looking ways, the murder of a rapper is more complicated than it seems.

Dromos (Graham McTavish), a demon from hell, inhabits Earth and breaks Lucifer's ban on bodily possessions. He wants nothing more than for Lucifer, his king, to return to his throne in Hell. Once realizing that Lucifer has no plans to return and to live life on Earth, he devises a plan. Only an angel can sit on the throne of Hell and he knows where to find one.

A Devil Of My Word (9.8)

The number one rated Lucifer episode, according to IMDb, goes to "A Devil of My Word" in season three. Following the aftermath left behind from "Quintessial Decker", the team finds out the truth about Pierce. They devise a plan to catch his accomplices and bring him to justice.

Only Lucifer knows who he really is and how to kill him. In an effort to save Chloe, Lucifer puts himself in the crossfire and uses his wings to protect them. The episode takes a turn as Chloe is faced with who Lucifer really is and his true nature.
